Lisa and Richard's Wedding at Nettlestead Place

Being in such a pretty and natural setting as Nettlestead Place, Richard and Lisa wanted their flowers to be in keeping with these surroundings and yet be striking and elegant.  Their colour scheme was deep purple / aubergine and ivory and Lisa fell in love with the Picasso Calla lily.  We therefore decided to team the more structural calla lily with softer sweet peas, lisianthus and eucalyptus parvifolia  for the personal flowers, and add hydrangeas, stocks, alliums, mini alliums, gerberas, germinis, trachellium and lavender.  Altogether a lovely combination.

For Lisa's bouquet, we used the striking Picasso calla lily along with double purple lisianthus, purple sweet peas and eucalyptus parvifolia in a hand-tied bouquet and finished the stems with ivory ribbon and sparkly pins.

For the bridesmaids, we reversed the colour scheme and used ivory calla lilies, ivory double lisianthus, purple and ivory bi-coloured lisianthus and a few purple sweet peas along with eucalyptus parvifolia.

For Richard, we used the Picasso Calla lily and a purple lisianthus head with foliage to match Lisa's bouquet for his buttonhole.  We then matched the rest of the grooms' party to the bridesmaids by using ivory calla lilies and lisianthus.    For the Page Boy, we used chinchinerinchee instead of a calla lily as it would have been too large.  Corsages included roses, lisianthus, chincherinchee, trachellium and eucalyptus parvifolia.

In the beautiful Undercroft at Nettlestead Place, we provided a soft and natural arrangement for the large celebrant table, and framed the table with pedestal arrangements.  It just softened the overall look of the stunning vaulted ceiling for the ceremony.

For the main marquee, we used tall lily vases filled with purple water and added top arrangements of hydrangeas, lisianthus, gerberas, germinis, mini alliums, trachellium and foliage, keeping in mind the overall soft look Lisa and Richard wanted.  We placed the tablecentres on mirrors and decided at the last minute to add hydrangea florets to the mirrors to add further colour and softness.

For the top table, we provided a long and low textured and yet striking arrangement and added colour to the cloth by adding hydrangea florets.  The pedestals from the Undercroft would be moved after the ceremony to frame the top table.

We also added flowers to the cake and decided upon a small top arrangement and a wired section for the bottom tier.  Once again a last minute addition of hydrangea florets finished the table.

Our wonderful British weather let us down with heavy rain showers on the day, but we hope that Lisa and Richard had a wonderful day and managed to make the most of the sunshine between the showers.  We hope it was perfect for them as they and their families have been so lovely to work with.  It makes our job so worthwhile and so much easier to work with such lovely people, and we hope that all their dreams have come true for their wedding.
