Laura and Matt's wedding at Otham Church followed by The Little Silver

When we first met Laura and Matt and saw their wedding invitation (designed to look like a box of chocolates, with a Willy Wonka Golden Ticket inside), we knew this was going to be no ordinary wedding.  Willy Wonka is Laura's favourite film and hence her table names were called after memorable parts of the film...Oompa Lumpas, The Chocolate River, Veruca Salt etc.  Following on from this, the obvious colour was Cadbury's purple and the additional details included fans, bows and vintage accents.  Hard to imagine....wait until you see the photos.  Laura and Matt's wedding incorporated their favourite things, and the attention to detail was wonderful and the overall look elegant, yet fun.

For Laura's bouquet, we used the stunning purpleVanda orchid along with Vendella roses (with additional sparkles), bi-coloured purple and white lisianthus, rosemary, grass and eucalyptus parvifolia.  We wrapped the stems in ivory, added a purple bow to the top, and then finished the bouquet with Laura's Nan's brooch.  Laura was wearing a fantastic vintage diamante bow hairband, and had her hair beautifully styled by Nina, her stylist and was wearing a stunning slightly darker ivory dress, hence the use of the Vendella rose.

For the elder bridesmaids, we decorated fans for them to carry and once again used the stunning purple Vanda orchid along with pearls, bows and ribbons.  Very different!

For the younger girls, we designed simple yet striking wrist corsages of orchids and spray roses.

Matt's buttonhole tied in with Laura's bouquet by using a Vendella rose, a bi-coloured lisianthus, foliage to match, and sparkles.  The rest of the groom's party had Vendella rose buttonholes with ivy and eucalyptus parvifolia and the Mum's had spray rose corsages tailored to match their outfits.

For the reception, we provided large silver candelabra, draped in ivy and pearls, with a purple bow on each arm, and finished with purple vanda orchids.  Simply striking!  Name cards were delicate filigree fans on the wineglasses and each of the table names was in a vintage style frame.

For the top table, we used mini candelabra each end, and draped pearls and ivy down the length of the table, onto which we put votives with roses or orchids, and arranged them around the lovely photoframes provided by Laura.  Orchids on the place settings finished the dressing along with fans for the Mums.

Laura's cake was made by a family friend (Lynn Oakley who has featured on our blogs before with her stunning cakes....and she doesn't do this for a living!) and looked fabulous.

The chair covers and sashes were by Yvonne at Dressing Rooms, and despite being more difficult to tie than the normal organza bows, I think you'll agree it makes a huge difference having that striking colour added to the room.

All in all, we think it looked lovely and having seen both Laura and Matt on the morning of their wedding looking calm and excited, and the morning after, having had a perfect day, we know that they will remember this day forever.
