Ramada Maidstone Wedding Fair 31st August 2009

Bank Holiday Monday heralds the start of the wedding fair season and we were at the Ramada Hotel, Maidstone wedding fair. We thought it may be quiet given that it was a beautiful day, but we didn't stop to draw breath until well into the afternoon. In hindsight, we should have brought more people along with us, but we still managed to talk to a lot of couples planning their weddings. Some were certainly really exciting, for example one lovely lady is planning a "screen siren / Hollywood glamour" wedding for which we had some interesting ideas.
Here are a selection of the bouquets we designed for the wedding fair.

With the following sequence of bouquets, we demonstrated how bouquets can be scaled up from a single flower for a Flower Girl to bouquets for bridesmaids, maids of honour and brides. It also shows how we can use the same flowers in different ways.

We decided to work with a more vintage theme for the day in a colour palette of lilacs, purples and dusty pinks, using the beautiful Carousel Illusion rose in some of the arrangements. Purple is such an on-trend colour especially for bridesmaids dresses and it seemed to strike a chord for many people. We hope you liked our softer style for the day, including some of the tablecentres below.

Visitors had come from far and wide for the day, and venues ranged from Flackley Ash Hotel to Sopwell House (both of which we know) and all the Kent venues in between. We'd like to thank all those people who chatted to us on the day, and apologise that the images have taken a little longer than planned to post on the blog.....it's been a bit of a week for weddings again! We hope to see a lot of you again and hope some of the arrangements may provide some inspiration.
