Jemma and Neil's wedding at Turkey Mill

Our main wedding last week was that of Jemma and Neil, pictured above as wonderfully created by Jemma's Mum! What a fabulous cake it was and a perfect match for the whole theme.

Jemma had been to a wedding fair a while ago and saw a hot pink and black theme that we had done, and decided that this would be a great theme for her wedding. Jemma's bridesmaids were wearing black and we decided that the hot pink Serena gerbera would be a great contrast along with sprigs of black bear grass. Jemma also wanted a bouquet of Serena gerberas and we added diamantes and flat black feathers along with black bear grass. We finished the bouquets with contrasting ribbons for a final effect. For the flower girls, we used fluffy feathers along with their Serena gerberas and crystals for their wands.

For the tables, Jemma fell in love with Martini Glasses and only wanted hot pink and black as the colours, hence standard foliage was out of the question. As Jemma wanted a contemporary look we chose black tie leaves folded in different ways, black bear grass and Serena gerberas. To complement and add texture to the Serena gerberas, we added Tenga Venga roses and the fascinating celosia, which proved quite a talking point for everyone.

For the top table, we used mini Martini vases at each end, and provided a small contemporary arrangement to sit in front of Jemma and Neil.

For the finishing touches, we placed gerberas with loops of black bear grass through every chair back, added gerberas to each place setting on the top table, and finished the post box and table plan with a couple of gerberas...all to finish the overall theme and all in water phials to ensure continued freshness.

  2. Hello Lyn, I am so pleased that you liked the flowers and the overall look of the Orangery. I think it really suited Jemma and Neil's overall theme and I'm just glad everyone liked it. As for your cake, I think your talents are wasted....it was fabulous and I couldn't believe that as well as the replica dress and shoes, that you had actually created a replica bouquet for the "iced Jemma"....brilliant! I think a future business is beckoning for you.
