Philippa and Nick's wedding at Chilham Church and afterwards at Leeds Castle

What a lovely wedding Philippa and Nick had planned.  Having been in on the planning from the beginning, it was a real pleasure to be involved in their special day.  No detail was left to chance and it all showed on the day.  Philippa wore a stunning dress and bolero jacket designed for her by Christina K gowns (http://www.christinak.co.uk/) who kindly referred Philippa and Nick to us.  It set the scene for an elegant and streamlined look for their wedding and as they have a love of the South of France and had already chosen blue as their accent colour, agapanthus was the chosen flower along with the striking and simple calla lily.  Agapanthus comes from the Greek agap, meaning love, and anthos, meaning flower, translating broadly as the flower of love which is most appropriate for a wedding, and a fact that Philippa and Nick included on their table names....a lovely touch.

The photos on the day were taken by the lovely Graham Scott so are bound to be wonderful...Graham and I have worked together a number of times and hence I know that I'll be able to show you some of the photos in the future.  He also let me grab a couple of quick shots of Philippa and Nick when we were setting up and when he was finishing his photography, hence I can include some here.  I have to emphasise that these are all my own amateur shots of the wedding, not Graham's lovely professional ones.  Check out his website on http://www.grahamscottstudio.co.uk/

For the bouquets, Philippa chose a simple, yet striking bouquet of calla lilies, agapanthus and grasses.  We kept it light, airy and slimline so as not to overpower her dress and then added a simple overarm bouquet for her bridesmaid to continue the simple, yet striking look.

For the buttonholes, we added a swirl of agapanthus florets to Nick's calla lily buttonhole to tie in to Philippa's bouquet.  We provided simple calla lily buttonholes for the men, and mini Crystal Blush calla lilies plus spray roses and agapanthus florets for the Mums.

Two striking pedestal arrangements were provided at Chilham Church to frame Philippa and Nick taking their vows.

We then set up at Leeds Castle for the evening using pedestals to frame the doorway to the terrace and to finish off the beautifully made cake (http://www.creativecakesbymaria.co.uk/)  which had a lovely spray to match Philippa's bouquet added to the top.  Each tier was slightly rotated as well, which made it look a little different.

For the tables, we provided tall elegant lily vases for the central tables, with the top table being a little more extravagant.  Each sat on a circular mirror sprinkled with agapanthus florets.  The side tables were very similar, but given the lower ceiling height, we scaled them down slightly and used lower vases and slightly smaller mirrors.  This was just to ensure that they were in proportion to the space and didn't overpower.  With the water colour in the vases and the calla lilies on the napkins, we think it looked very elegant and suited Nick and Philippa extremely well.

Despite variable weather through the day, the sun was shining beautifully at Leeds Castle and the guests were enjoying themselves in the courtyard as the fabulously organised Katie and her team and ourselves rushed to get the room ready in plenty of time for the evening.  It is an impressive site watching the Fairfax Hall be transformed in such a small space of time, especially with 17 tables, and it's all down to Katie and her team....I think you'll agree they did a great job, with every little detail down to the spacing of cutlery managed perfectly. All in all a wonderful setting for the rest of Philippa and Nick's day.
