Nadine and Linton's wedding at Cowden Church and Salomons, Tunbridge Wells

When we met Nadine, she was particularly taken by our floral handbags and fell in love with the idea of providing one for each of her bridesmaids.  However, as time progressed and she finalised more of the details of the wedding, she decided that she wanted to follow a very soft, romantic and yet fresh theme in shades of green and ivory.  She also loves English style blooms, and hence we decided upon a mix of hydrangeas, roses (Vendella, Majolika and Green Tea), lisianthus, chincherinchee, bupleurum and eucalyptus.  We kept arrangements soft and hand-tied and think the overall look complemented the setting and the lovely Nadine and Linton perfectly.  It looked so fresh and crisp and yet incorporated all the softness and romance of the day.

For Nadine's bouquet, we wanted a very textured feel and yet wanted the flowers to be able to show themselves off.  Despite using quite a range of flowers within her bouquet, we think they worked beautifully together and provided a lovely bouquet to complement her gorgeous wedding gown, which was a cream duchesse satin with a full ruched skirt.   Pearls were her chosen accessory, hence the dressing on the stem of the bouquet.  As Nadine knew she wouldn't want to part with her bouquet, we provided a smaller throw bouquet for her to use later in the day (which she still didn't want to part with when the time came!)

Nadine's bridesmaids were wearing very soft floaty dresses in celadon green with an ivory overlay, leaving them very pale green overall in colour.  Nadine's sister's dress was more ivory in colour and hence we added a little more green into the bouquet in the form of Greentrick.  We didn't want to use the Green Tea rose again as we had reserved this for Nadine and Linton.  The other bridesmaids had more ivory bouquets to contrast against their dresses.

Linton's buttonhole was the best of both worlds as we designed a double Vendella and Green Tea rose buttonhole with eucalyptus and a touch a bupleurum.  The rest of the grooms party wore Vendella rose buttonholes and the Mums had delicate corsages of Majolika roses, freesias, bupleurum and eucalyptus.

Tables were simple glass vases with a full and soft hand-tied bouquet of roses, hydrangeas, chincherinchee, bupleurum and eucalyptus, all designed to be taken away at the end of the day.  For the top table, we added roses to the napkins with Green Tea added to Nadine and Linton and Vendella for the rest of the guests.

Finally, thank-you bouquets were provided (only one photographed), to tie in with the theme of the day.

It was a great pleasure working with the lovely Nadine and her family and chatting to them all at various points of the planning.  Despite the slightly drizzly weather, we know that it will have been a perfect day for Nadine and Linton....even with the pyjamas in the morning, the hair and make-up were perfect! And now, thanks to Nadine sending me some initial photos across, you can all see how lovely she looked and how well the colours and style worked with the bridal party.....thanks to Nadine and Linton for the photos and the lovely comments as well!

  1. Thank you so much for these pictures, but more importantly for the gorgeous flowers. We had so many comments on how stunning the flowers looked. The table centrepieces were stunning, they took my breath away when I saw them all in the reception room. And I loved my bouquet so much (as I knew I would) and I was so pleased with the throw bouquet, the only problem was I still didn't want to throw it!!! Thanks again, love, Nadine and Linton x
