Lisa and Nigel's wedding at Allington Church and Oakwood House

From the moment we met Lisa and Nigel, they were clear that they wanted calla lilies as the focal flower of their wedding.  We weren't sure about the colour with Lisa loving chocolate, but it all became clear when the bridesmaid's dress was chosen....a gorgeous rich plum colour.  We therefore decided on Picasso Calla Lilies along with Ivory Calla Lilies and Casablanca Oriental Lilies elsewhere.  The look was always going to be elegant and contemporary in style and simplicity was the key.

Lisa's dress was so lovely and detailed (I'm so lucky to have got a few shots of it in the gorgeous bridal suite in Oakwood), that we decided overarm bouquets would work best to show off the dress to the full.   Calla lilies show themselves off so well this way too, so it was the best combination to choose.  We used grasses threaded with crystals to pick up some of the detailing on the dress and added a few aspidistra leaves for structure.  We followed this with an ivory overarm calla lily bouquet for the bridesmaid so that the colour contrasted against her dress.

For the groom's party, buttonholes were calla lilies, with Nigel wearing a Picasso Calla Lily and everyone else wearing ivory.  Mums' corsages were designed to work with their individual outfits.

For the church, we provided a long trailing arrangement for the altar (not photographed in place I'm afraid) consisting of calla lilies, oriental lilies, aspidistra, palms and grasses.  This was subsequently moved to the top table at Oakwood House.

For the guest tables at Oakwood House, we used tall lily vases filled with plum coloured water each containing a hand-tied arrangement of lilies, grasses and aspidistra.  A few additional bits of sparkle were added to the grasses to catch the light.  The vases were to be placed on coloured table runners and mirrors, but as they hadn't arrived at Oakwood, we have photographed the tablecentres standing to attention!  And also popped one on the table just to show the height.

The cake was dressed on site by ourselves and was a simple design to which we added ribbon and central srpays of flowers, with each getting slightly larger.  Very elegant!  Bouquets were also provided for the Mums (not photographed) and used all the flowers used in the wedding arranged in a front facing hand-tied bouquet.

Lisa looked so lovely even without her make-up finished and was really very relaxed on the morning of the wedding.  Her hair was amazing and as we've all been lucky enough to see the dress, I know the finished look will have taken Nigel's breath away.  I know they will all have had a wonderful day at Oakwood and wish them all the very very best for the future together.  It's been so lovely working with them.
