A weekend of weddings....Turkey Mill, Chilston Park, Weald of Kent, The Hengist....

Rather than post all last weekends weddings seperately, I've decided to put them all together in one blog entry.  Some weddings were similar and some very different in style, so the blog will have a range of different photos which hopefully means that they suit a number of people.

Starting with Annabelle and Lee's wedding at Turkey Mill, this was a simple and stylish wedding using only Vendella roses to tone in with the warm creamy ivory of Annabelle's spectacular dress.....given the detail on the dress, we kept the flowers really simple.  We followed the Vendella rose theme through the bridesmaids' bouquets, buttonholes and for the table centres.  The celebrant table in the fabulous new Garden Room at Turkey Mill was dressed with two simple fishbowls, with a hand-tied rose bouquet sitting in each.  The main guest tables were then dressed with a linear arrangement of roses in a lily vase....simple, but striking and all tied with offcuts of the bridesmaids' dress fabric courtesy of Bridal Gowns of Jodi (http://www.weddingdressesuk.com/).  We think they were really effective and worked so well with the contemporary but unfussy look that Annabelle wanted.

Then onto Chilston Park for Louiza and Tom's wedding.   This was a softer and more textured look with a slightly more vintage feel.  The colours were pink and ivory and we used the lovely Sweet Avalanche rose along with the ivory Avalanche rose and with Sarah Bernhardt peonies for the bridal bouquet and Duchesse de Nemours peonies for the bridesmaids.  Corsages and buttonholes tied in with the bridal flowers using roses, spray roses and a few chincherinchee.  The celebrant and subsequent top table arrangement was a large and full arrangement using all the flowers used elsewhere.

Moving onto Emma and Martin's wedding, we again used peonies and roses with the peonies all being in shades of light to dark pink.  The bridal bouquet was a hand-tied bouquet with additional sparkles added and the bridesmaids wore wrist corsages of roses and spray roses.  The tables at the Weald of Kent were dressed alternatively with birdcages and low martini glass vases (provided by the venue) filled with arrangements of roses and peonies.  And as for the cake....it looked yummy...very pretty cupcakes in a tower, all with flowers piped onto the top, and with a top cutting layer, for which we provided a simple, compact topper of roses and peonies.

Finally onto Emma and John's wedding at Rochester Cathedral and afterwards at The Hengist, we followed a purple and ivory theme and provided elegant and contemporary Picasso calla lilies along with trachellium, eryngium (blue and white) and rolled Black Tie Leaves.  Emma carried an overarm bouquet and her Flower Girl, Grace, had a small "wand" to tie in with the flowers, and we attached a calla lily to her alice band.  Picasso calla lily buttonholes were provided for all the male guests, with female guests having corsages of white eryngium and chincherinchee.  Flowers for the tables in The Hengist were striking, lower height lily vases (given the beam height in The Hengist) filled with purple water and with a striking structural arrangement of lilies, trachellium, eryngium, black tie leaves and grasses.

As ever, all our brides were lovely and there were some beautiful and elaborate hairstyles being arranged when we delivered the flowers.....such an art getting hair to do what the stylists were doing at the weekend...think I'll stick to the day job!

Jodie and Jonathon's wedding at Chilston Park - the real photos!

Those of you following the blog may remember seeing some photos of Jodie and Jon's wedding at Chilston Park.  It was a soft, pretty, slightly vintage theme and the flowers were predominantly spring flowers in ivory with hints of palest pink and palest lilac.  Wraps of lace were used to tie in with Jodie's exquisite dress and scent was so important and added via paperwhites and rosemary.

Their mismatched hurricane lamps on each of the tables were dressed with tulips and rosemary and each table was sprinkled with paperwhite pips.

We loved working on this wedding as Jodie and Jon are such a lovely, natural couple, and having met them several times (and also delivered surprise flowers to Jodie a week in advance of the wedding ....to the minute of the ceremony!), we were caught up in their excitement.  When Jodie got in touch yesterday to see whether I would like to see the photos, the only question was really how quickly I could see them.  However, not only did I get to see these fantastic photos from Kelvin Brown (http://www.kelvinbrown.co.uk/), their professional photographer, I got to spend time with Jodie and Jon again as they kindly gave up time in the evening to take me through all their photos.

Their photographer Kelvin Brown hadn't actually shot a wedding at Chilston Park before, but wow...did he make up for it with these photos. The flowers have already been included in their previous blog, but we can't resist including some of Kelvin's photos of them as well.  Don't worry, non flower photos are to follow below!

Whilst I love seeing our flowers featuring in the actual wedding, I rarely get to see our wedding couples together on their day as we are long since finished and gone, so I love to see the whole story of their day unfold in the photos.  We all knew that Jodie would look amazing (the attention to detail to get the hair, tiara, dress, jewellery and flowers to match so well was lovely), and had already seen how great the boys all looked on the day, but when you see the photos, I'm sure you'll agree that they are beautiful....really classic, timeless images which capture everything about the couple and their special day. I think it makes Chilston Park look like a film set, with Jodie in the starring role as a modern day Audrey Hepburn!

I loved seeing other details of the day, so I will include some of Kelvin's photos minus the flowers just to show you how fabulous the whole day was and how well it was captured on film.....some highlights for me are the bubbles....and the Bulmers Pear (there's an advert if ever I saw one) and the car which belonged to a friend of the family...so evocative and so perfect for Jodie and Jon.  I've not included photos of the speeches as you really do need to hear the story Jon's Dad told the wedding party to understand the photos and why some of the guests are hiding their faces!

Thanks so much to Jodie and Jon for taking the time to share these beautiful photos with us, and thanks so much to Kelvin for allowing us to use these fabulous images in our blog.....I think they may be featuring in a new portfolio book soon!
