Katie and Chris' beautiful Orangery wedding

 

I've just sat down to do the "blog" task on my daily to-do list assuming it would be one of the weddings of the last few weeks, but when I finally unearthed the pile of weddings that still haven't been blogged it's scary....I've been remiss and I have weddings back to March that haven't been included yet but time seems to have run out.  I can't promise to include all our weddings (far from it) but I'll try to do a bit of catching up.

So first to Katie and Chris' Orangery wedding from June this year.  And what a lovely day it was.  Having already provided the flowers for Katie's sister Carly, we know (and love) the family pretty well.  We were so pleased to be involved and it was lovely catching up on all the news.  Congrats Carly on the expected new arrival.

So for Katie's wedding we moved from birdcages to candelabras and used the softest, prettiest palette of dusky pinks, ivories and sage toned greens.  The bridesmaids were wearing sage green dresses, so we wanted everything very soft and muted with a pretty and quite natural look.  The bouquets were a mix of La Belle, Vendella, Amnesia, Majolika rose, peonies, hypericum, trachellium and freesias with rosemary and eucalyptus foliage.  The scent was wonderful and we just scaled the size and mixture of flowers down for the bridesmaids yet kept the look the same.

The boys all wore Vendella rose buttonholes with foliage and the Mums had corsages designed to match their outfits.

For the then newly redecorated Orangery, we provided a soft and pretty trailing arrangement for the celebrant table for the ceremony. 

We also provided a soft long and low arrangement for the top table with additional vases either end to take the bouquets. Guest tables were dressed with elegant candelabras with soft and textured floral arrangements on top. Katie wanted these to be relatively neat and not too trailing.

For additional finishing touches we provided some flowers for the gift table, which looked lovely next to the framed family photos.  We also provided a cake topper for the cake provided by our friends at Creative Cakes.  It was a lovely wedding and so great to be involved with a  fabulous family that we feel we know now.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you for our beautiful wedding flowers.  I can't even begin to explain how over the moon me and Chris were with them.  They were stunning and more than we could have ever imagined.  They helped make our day perfect and we have received so many compliments from our guests saying how stunning they were.    Thank you, thank you, thank you!!  You helped make me one very happy bride!  I can't recommend you enough!

Thank you again!  I don't think any words can help to explain how happy I was with the flowers!  I have tried to upload a picture of us from our wedding for you to see but it won't let me so will send one separately!

Sarah and Keith's soft and pretty Turkey Mill wedding

Having had such a wonderful summer this year, it was gutting to have such a foul day for the lovely Sarah and Keith's wedding at Turkey Mill over the August Bank Holiday.  It really was pretty horrible, and particularly tough when they had planned an outside wedding in the gazebo.  BUT, I know that the rain stopped long enough for Sarah to make her grand entrance over the bridge and up to the Garden Room...and I know they had a fabulous day. 

Sarah looked as stunning as I knew she would...she is petite, blonde and stunning and by rights we should be so jealous of how good she looks!  However, her smile and personality won us over!  She wore the most gorgeous gown...very simple but extremely striking with a sweetheart neckline and ruched detailing across the slim fit, dropped waist bodice and into a flowing skirt and train.  (Keith looked so handsome too in his grey morning suit...what a couple).  So, given her looks, her size and the fact that she wanted a soft and natural bouquet that didn't swamp her, we had to choose the right mix of flowers for her hand-tied bouquet.  We used a blue hydrangea as the base and then added Amnesia roses, ivory spray roses, lisianthus, eryngium thistle, veronica and freesias along with eucalyptus foliage.  So very pretty and very Sarah!

Sarah's bridesmaids wore quite a strong shade of blue (not quite Royal Blue, but not pastel either) and hence we decided to provide more ivory bouquets for them as a contrast with a hint of the dusky pink as the accent colour.  We used the style and a lot of the flowers used in Sarah's bouquet so that they all looked good together.

The boys buttonholes tied in perfectly with Keith wearing an Amnesia rose along with eryngium thistle and foliage and the rest of the grooms' party wearing ivory roses with eryngium and foliage.  We also provided corsages for Mums and Nan to tie in with their chosen outfits.   We also provided thank-you bouquets for the Mums to Sarah's specification.

For the ceremony, we dressed the aisle chairs with alternating roses with thistles, or blue hydrangeas, all attached with organza ribbon.  We also dressed the long bridge with large ivory organza bows with Amnesia roses added.  For the baytrees in the garden room, we decided to add some hydrangeas for additional colour, and we then finished the celebrant table with a tapered low glass vase filled with flowers to match everywhere else.

For the wedding breakfast, all tables including the guest tables were circular and we use a tall and elegant trumpet vase as a centrepiece, placed on a circular mirror.  We floated an Amnesia rose halfway up the vase for interest when the guests were seated, and then we added a soft and full arrangement in the top using a mix of the flowers used elsewhere and a balance of blue, dusky pink and ivory.  Sarah and Keith wanted the arrangements to be full, but not too wide and I think the overall look was very pretty and very elegant.  We finished the look with hydrangea florets on the mirrors.

Final details that we had to mention...firstly the cake / cakes....made once again by www.creativecakes.co.uk They did look lovely...I love the individual parcel idea.  Then the ruched chair covers by Yvonne and the team at www.dressingroomsonline.co.uk  And finally the lovely table plan courtesy of the bride and groom.

We loved the wedding, despite stressing about getting the hydrangea colour right, and were really pleased that despite a rubbish day of weather, Turkey Mill looked lovely and Sarah and Keith had a great day.
