Gemma and Andrew's wedding at Little Hermitage

Gemma and Andrew married at the very pretty Little Hermitage in Higham.  They wanted a very soft and pretty lavender and ivory floral theme with deeper purple accents and a slightly vintage feel.  We first met Gemma at a wedding fair when she was attracted by our floral handbags...this then set the scene for the flowers.

Gemma had a stunning dress with detailing on the fitted bodice, a softly flounced skirt and a lace bolero jacket.

Thanks to Gemma and Andrew sending some photos across, I can now show you how lovely the dress looked on Gemma...always better than on the hanger.  How lovely and happy does she look.

For her flowers, we designed a textured hand-tied bouquet of Amnesia roses, Clear Ocean spray roses, freesias, lily of the valley, ranunculus, bouvardia and lisianthus along with rosemary and eucalyptus.  We think it looked lovely and we finished it with lace ribbon to match the bolero jacket.  It also smelt absolutely gorgeous which is a huge bonus.

For the bridesmaids, we designed our striking floral handbags using all Clear Ocean spray roses and pearls.  We finished them with a pearl handle.  Against their deeper purple dresses, they would looked stunning and were the subject of lots of lovely comments on the day.

For Andrew, we used an Amnesia rose buttonhole with lily of the valley and sprigs of rosemary and eucalyptus, and then provided buttonholes for the grooms' party to match but minus the lily of the valley.  For the Mums' corsages, we used lisianthus, freesia, spray rose, lily of the valley and light foliage with loops of ribbon to match their outfits.  We also provided corsages for the Grandmas and stuck to spray roses and lisianthus buds and light foliage.

To welcome guests into The Little Hermitage, we provided a vintage styled birdcage dressed with flowers to match the wedding flowers.  It looked lovely reflected in the mirror in the entrance hallway.

For the celebrant table and subsequently the top table, we designed a soft and pretty arrangement of roses, lisianthus, freesias, ranunculus, bouvardia and soft foliage.  We used similar flowers for three of the tablecentres which were arranged on cake plates to keep them low.  We also added some lace bows to the flowers.  For the remaining tables, we used the same cakeplates filled with Amnesia rose petals and with a large trailing lace bow.  These then held the handbags during the reception, which ensured that they had a double use.  As the room was not set up for the reception, we arranged the flowers on the window ledges and mantelpiece, which again meant that they were used and admired throughout the day.  Again, the flowers are brought to life by the photos provided by Gemma and Andrew.

We know that Gemma, Andrew and their families had a lovely day, despite it not being as warm and sunny as they had hoped.  They had spent a while planning their special day, and it is lovely to know it was everything they hoped for.  We wish them a long and happy life together.
