Vic and Richard's wedding at The Great Barn in Rolvenden

What better way to brighten up a dullish day than to have gorgeous bright colours for your wedding flowers.  Vic and Richard were married in Rolvenden Barn over Easter using the orange and purple of Easter with a hint of cerise pink.  Having met Vic when we provided flowers for her sister Beth's wedding to Simon last year, we all knew we wanted a very different look for Vic and Richard's flowers.  So to tie in with the rustic barn, with the Easter season and to fit with the personalities and style of the bride and groom, we decided upon slightly unstructured and natural hand-ties for both bouquets and tablecentres.

A mass of fabulous colour!

Vic had chosen a lovely flowing empire line gown with beading at the bustline and was wearing a short veil and headband.  Given the simplicity of the gown and the fact that Vic is pretty petite, we designed a hand-tied colourful bouquet of Mango Calla lilies, double Orange Princess tulips, purple lisianthus and purple veronica, ivory chincherinchee and cerise pink germinis along with rosemary and ivy.  We wrapped the stems in ivory ribbon to match Vic's dress and then overlaid narrower orange ribbon in a criss-cross style over the top.

For Richard, we provided a Mango Calla Lily buttonhole with purple veronica and chincherinchee along with rosemary and ivy.  The remainder of the grooms' party wore purple veronica and chincherinchee buttonholes with rosemary and ivy.  For the ladies' we provided a range of corsages using chincherinchee, spray roses and foliage, with each tailored to their outfits and some being designed differently to denote different roles in the wedding.

For the ceremony, we dressed the celebrant table with a colourful long and low arrangement using all the flowers used elsewhere in the wedding, with lots of soft trailing ivy.  We also provided four vase arrangements for the bar area.  We dressed the balustrades and handrails on the steps up to the ceremony area with foliage garlands interspersed with flowers matching the wedding.

For the reception, the celebrant table arrangement was moved and placed in the centre of the top table, and each of the ten guest tables had a low tapered glass vase filled with a hand-tied naturally styled arrangement of germinis, veronica, tulips, lisianthus and chincherinchee with ivy and rosemary.  These were simply tied with raffia to enable guests to take them home at the end of the day.  Love the favours of personalised egg cups and creme eggs for the guests!

Finally, we provided hand-tied aqua packed thank-you bouquets to match the wedding flowers, and also provided a range of flowers for the tiered stand of cupcakes.  Unfortunately due to time constraints, we couldn't photograph the cupcakes, but we know it would have looked lovely.

Vic and Richard had a wonderful day and were still smiling the following morning when undertaking the tidy-up operation.  They are such a happy and relaxed couple and chose a perfect wedding for them.  We loved being involved and also catching up with Beth and Simon and the rest of their family again.  We wish them all the very very best for a long and happy future together.

Faye and Paul's wedding at The Tudor Park Hotel

 Faye and Paul were really keen to keep their wedding flowers, as simple and streamlined as possible whilst still looking good.  Flower choices were easy as Faye loves lilies, and as the bridesmaids were going to be in raspberry dresses, the colour scheme was chosen straight away.

As well as using the lilies that Faye loves, we used Dolce Vita roses for a mix of colour, Maroussia roses and white germinis.  Foliage was a simple mix of ruscus and bear grass (although we cheated slightly and added crystals to the grasses as we know that Faye's dress had plenty of sparkles and we were adding them to the bouquets.

Faye's dress was truly gorgeous...it looked much better in real life than in the magazine shots, and she will undoubtedly have looked amazing in it.  To keep her bouquet relatively simple and yet include her favourite flowers, we provided a textured hand-tied bouquet of lilies, roses and light foliage.  The stems were wrapped in white ribbon and finished with sparkles to match the dress.

For the elder bridesmaids, we used white germini with Dolce Vita roses and light foliage.  For the four Flower Girls, we provided white germini "wands" surrounded with light raspberry feathers, a few sprigs of grass and some sparkles.  Faye's sister also wore a gerbera in her hair, to which we added sparkles and foliage.

For the boys, we used a Dolce Vita rose for Paul and white germinis for the remainder of the bridal party so that they matched the bridal entourage.  Corsages were provided to tie in with the ladies' clothes and jewellery and thank-you's were provided for special family members.

For the top table, we designed a full arrangement using all the flowers used elsewhere in the wedding.  OK, so it wasn't streamlined and small, but given the length of the top table, and the fact that Faye and Paul deserved something a little more special, we decided it would be right.  We finished the table with Dolce Vita rose petals.

Guest tables were simply dressed with tall lily vases on mirrors in which a streamlined hand-tied bouquet of lilies, germinis, ruscus and grasses were provided tied with raspberry bows.  Once the room was finally dressed with covers, bows and napkin ties (we were too early to see it finished), it would have given the perfect balance of raspberry and ivory.

All was calm on the morning of the wedding and both Paul and Faye were so looking forward to their special day.   We hope it was everything they dreamed of as such a lovely couple deserve the very best wedding day.
