Nikki and Paul's contemporary purple and ivory wedding at Rowhill Grange

 
Nikki and Paul's story dates back to schooldays...with a long gap in the meantime and a chance meeting up North.  Fast forward a while, include a lovely baby and we provided the flowers for their lovely wedding at Rowhill Grange last August (I know...it takes me a while to catch up).  Nikki and her family are wonderful people and a joy to work with and I was so pleased to design their flowers.  Nikki knew that she wanted a purple and ivory theme and she liked a more contemporary look, so we used orchids, anthuriums, calla lilies, lisianthus and roses and added striking purple hydrangeas into the tablecentres.

Nikki chose a shower bouquet in a more contemporary style, which additional crystal sprigs for that touch of sparkle.  We added rolled leaves into the bouquet to give further definition as well.

For her bridesmaid, we designed a hand-tied bouquet of calla lilies, roses and lisianthus along with grevillia and grasses.  As she was wearing purple, we used more ivory than purple to allow it to stand out.  We then made a smaller version of this for Nikki's junior bridesmaid.  For her Flower Girl, we used a single calla lily surrounded by freesias and lisianthus.  As she was wearing an ivory dress, we used more purple to contrast.

For the boys, we used the stunning Vanda orchid with spray roses for Paul, so that he matched Nikki's bouquet, then used roses with lisianthus for the rest of the boys.  We then provided pretty corsages of dendrobrium orchids and spray roses with detailing added to match the Mums' outfits.  For the remainder of the guests, we provided pretty purple and ivory lisianthus buttonholes with simple foliage.

For the ceremony in the Clockhouse, we designed a contemporary full arrangement for the celebrant table using all the flowers used elsewhere. 

For the reception, we dressed the top table with a striking contemporary styled arrangement using all the flowers used elsewhere.  We then added hydrangea florets to the front of the cloth to give extra colour and added purple vanda orchids to the napkins as a finishing touch.

For the guest tables, we placed tall lily vases filled with purple water on central mirrors and added full arrangements of flowers to match all others at the top of the vase.  To finish the look, we sprinkled purple hydrangea florets and clear crystals on the mirrors. A final finishing touch was the cake topper which we designed to match the other flowers.

We know that Nikki and Paul, and all the family, had a fabulous day and it was so well deserved.  I'm so happy for them both and wish them a very long and happy life together.

Carly and Dave's striking Rowhill Grange Wedding

 

Today it's time to bring you Carly and Dave's lovely wedding at Rowhill Grange.  Whilst we love all the soft, pale English style flowers we are using at the moment, it is so nice to take a step back sometimes and use more contemporary flowers in a striking colour palette.  Back in the days when we had the shop, there was never an order of flowers into the shop that didn't contain calla lilies or anthuriums...our logo is even a stylistic set of anthuriums, but we don't get to use them much these days.  We were therefore thrilled with the stylish requirements of Carly and Dave whose colour scheme was aubergine, white and lime green.  Fab.

Carly looked absolutely stunning (great hair and make-up and fab dress).  She decided that she wanted a shower bouquet, but in the European style which tends to be more stylised.  We used Schwarzwalder and Picasso Calla lilies, whtie anthuriums, Greentrick and Black Tie leaves with China and Bear Grass.  So contemporary and stylish.

For the bridesmaids, we designed hand-tied bouquets of Picasso Calla Lilies along with Greentrick and Black Tie Leaves with grasses and then scaled this down for the junior bridesmaids.

The boys wore Calla lilies buttonholes, with Dave wearing the Schwarzwalder Calla with Greetrick, Black tie and grasses and the rest of the Groom's Party wearing Picasso Calla buttonholes with Black Tie and grasses.  We used mini calla lilies for the Mums with crystals and details to match outfits, and also provided one for Samantha.

For the celebrant table (to go in the gazebo), and then for the top table, we provided a long and low arrangement of calla lilies, anthuriums, celosia, greentrick and shamrock blooms along with palms, leaves and grasses.

 

We then decided to use mirrored cubes for the guest tables placed on mirrors.  In each of the cubes we used Calla lilies, Anthuriums, Celosia, Shamrocks, Kermit and foliage to match the day.  We hand-tied each of them and wrapped them in an aqua pack which we hid inside the cubes.  This kept them fresh all day, and then ideal to give to selected guests, whose names were hidden on tags attached.  We added the really cool tablenames to each arrangement.  We then added a variety of sprinkles provided by Carly and Dave to finish the table.  Beautiful.

And finally for the lovely cake made by Carly's Mum.  Beautifully made and finished with a simple yet structural topper of flowers....and a lego couple!  A fantastic wedding for a fabulous couple and their lovely families....would love to do it all over again.

Jo and Paul's wedding at Rowhill Grange

When I met Paul and Jo for the first time, I remember being struck by what a perfect couple they were, and remember Paul saying that the most important thing about their wedding was that he would be marrying Jo....what every wedding should be about, but rarely gets said.  Paul even ordered a Christmas door wreath as a surprise for Jo, using their wedding flowers....what a lovely thought.

Jo and Paul wanted flowers that matched their personalities, and added colour and pazazz to their special day.  They went for a hot pink and lime green floral theme, and we chose gerberas, roses, anthuriums, celosia, kermit, shamrock blooms and greentrick along with china grass as the main flowers. 

We wanted to incorporate all the flowers used elsewhere into Jo's bouquet and make it striking, textured and a little bit funky.  We added a sparkly gerbera shaped brooch which echoed the brooch on the hip area of her dress.  For her sister's bouquet, we used hot pink germinis, greentrick and kermit along with china grass.

Paul wore a double Green Tea rose buttonhole with kermit heads at the front and backed with china grass, whilst the groomsmen all wore hot pink gerberas as a contrast.  Jo's Mum loves orchids, and hence we used a few hot pink dendrobrium orchids along with chincherinchee and spray roses along with china grass.  For Paul's Mum, we used chincherinchee and spray roses.

For the tables we provided mirrored cubes containing a hand-tied bouquet of hot pink and lime green flowers (as listed above) in a hidden aqua pack to allow them to be given to guests at the end of the day.  Each tablecentre was placed on a central mirror, with smart candles added around the edge. 

For the top table, we used three slightly smaller mirrored cubes with a similar arrangement to the guest tables.   Between each, we added a cluster of Smart Candles for additional sparkle.  We also added Green Tea roses through the tied napkins on the top table just as a finishing touch.

We also provided two cubes for the celebrant table in the very pretty gazebo outside.  Mantelpieces, windowledges and the bar in the Clocktower Suite were dressed with low glass votives, each with a hot pink or lime green flower, which really added impact despite being really simple. 

To welcome guests to the Clocktower, we provided baytrees entwined with fairy lights and with a hot pink and lime green bow under the ball.  Each was finished with hot pink sisal at the bottom.

Jo and Paul had thought of everything with a table full of hot pink and lime green sweets, pink and green cupcakes (for which we provided a floral topper to match the tablecentres) and their table plan was inspired.....cd's with a different favourite song for each table, including the fantastic Dignity by Deacon Blue....great song.

I know Jo and Paul had a wonderful day, emotional at times, but perfect for them in every way.  Having had a tough year, Jo deserved the very best and its been a complete pleasure to work with Paul and Jo.  We wish them all the very best for a happy life ahead, and a lovely honeymoon at the end of the month.
