Sarah and Tom's wedding in Rodmersham Church and after at Scuttington Manor

We've been looking forward to Sarah and Tom's wedding for a while now, and have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the planning and build up to their special day.  As the wedding reception was to be in a marquee at Sarah's Dad's lovely home, we wanted to ensure that whilst elegant and sophisticated, the flowers also had an edge of softness and fitted with a rural setting.  Also as Sarah had chosen the most exquisite Blue by Enzoani dress (even more beautiful in reality than in the picture we were captivated with), we wanted the flowers to work with the detail and the fabulous lace, but not to overshadow.

Sarah and Tom's colours were deep purple and soft ivory and whilst they wanted the flowers to be flowing, they didn't want individual blooms to be too large or the arrangements to be too trailing.  We ruled out hydrangeas as a result of their size and focussed on Gletsjer roses, lisianthus, chincherinchee, freesias, trachellium and spray roses, all with eucalyptus parvifolia.

Being very petite, and wearing a very fitted gown, we kept Sarah's bouquet relatively small.  We added just a touch of purple to it in the form of lisianthus, keeping it mainly ivory.

For the bridesmaids, we wanted the strongest contrast against their dresses, and so chose all ivory bouquets.  As the Flower Girl had no purple in her really pretty and sparkly dress, we added a small bow made from an offcut of one of the bridesmaids' gowns, which gave just enough colour to her small posy.

For the really pretty church in Rodmersham, we added two tall lily vases filled with purple water to the front of the church with a soft arrangement in a balanced mix of ivory and purple using all the flowers used elsewhere.  These vases were subsequently moved from the church to the marquee after the service.  We then dressed every other pew with hanging arrangements to match the lily vase arrangements at the front.  We think it made a perfect frame for Sarah and Tom to take their vows without overdressing a really lovely church.

For the marquee, we used central mirrors for the tables to bounce around the beautiful sunlight, and added tall lily vases filled with purple water on top of which was a full and pretty arrangement or roses, chincherinchee, freesias, lisianthus and eucalyptus parvifolia.  We then finished the look with silk rose petals provided by Sarah sprinkled on each mirror.

For the top table, we provided three smaller versions of the main guest tablecentres which allowed us to continue with the elegant theme and yet allow guests to enjoy the speeches.  Whilst we didn't get to see the cake by the time we finished settting up, we know that the cake topper included a replica of Max, the gorgeous, friendly chocolate labrador that followed us from van to marquee and back again the whole time we were setting up....the other two labradors were just as lovely, but not quite as special as Max...if we get to see some photos, we'll be sure to add some to the blog to give Max the fame he deserves!

We know that Sarah and Tom will have had a perfect day in every way, largely down to the friends and family we met during the day....we were made to feel so welcome in every way and are sure this will have continued throughout the wedding.  A perfect day for a perfect couple (with Sarah wearing the perfect dress!)
