Carly and Dom's wedding in Challock

We really are very lucky to meet some wonderful people in our jobs and are helping them plan the happiest day of their lives.  This was particularly true of Carly and Dom, whom we hit it off with from the start.  Not only are they are wonderful couple made for each other, we got the opportunity to meet members of their extended family on several occasions which was fantastic.  The amount of time, effort and thought that went into every aspect of their wedding was tremendous, and despite this Carly never became the Bridezilla she kept saying she would!.

The wedding was to be held in Challock Church, and then the reception afterwards was in the grounds of a private residence.  The wedding breakfast was to be in a marquee, and the dancing and evening entertainment in a beautiful old barn.  It really was a fantastic location and just so pretty.

The theme of the wedding was hearts and everything was designed with this romantic theme in mind.  The colour scheme was pinks, ivories and purples and everything was soft and slightly vintage in appearance.  Given the overall heart theme of the wedding, Carly's bouquet was a hand-tied bouquet designed in a slightly elongated heart shape using just Dolce Vita roses and eucalyptus parvifolia.  Her dress was truly exquisite using lace and slightly vintage detailing and we wanted to keep the flowers simple, yet striking.  Even her hair was unique, having been put up into an elaborate and pretty style including a bow made from her hair at the back.   I know that her photographers (http://www.ryanandjophotography.co.uk/) have a wonderful photo of the bouquet in the manor house surroundings where Carly was getting ready and hopefully we can show that to you in due course, but in the meantime, here is our version.

For her bridesmaids, we used the Dolce Vita rose again and teamed it with pretty bouvardia and eucalyptus parvifolia in hand-tied bouquets.

The buttonholes were a mix of Dolce Vita (for Dom to match Carly's bouquet) and Maroussia roses with foliage for the remainder of the groom's party.  We also designed a range of corsages for different ladies in the bridal party.

For the beautiful rural Challock church, we used hand-tied bunches of freesias, Mimi Eden spray rose and lisianthus along with eucalyptus parvifolia as pew ends; we added to the rustic feel by using raffia to tie them onto the chairs, with an occasional distressed metal heart added.  We then provided a large pedestal arrangement for the Entrance and two pedestals for the front of the Church.  These were going to grace the marquee later in the day.

Carly had bought cream wire heart tealight holders for the tables, which we set into floral surrounds of roses (Dolce Vita, Amnesia and Mimi Eden spray) along with lisianthus, alchemilla mollis, freesias, bouvardia and eucalyptus.  They looked so pretty in the marquee....perfect for a soft, romantic English country wedding.  We then provided a compact top table arrangement into which we rested "Mr and Mrs N" at the front.  Additional arrangements were placed either end of the top table, and roses were finally added to the mini hearts in between.

Carly provided wire baskets of sweets, which looked lovely and worked so well with the overall theme.  And as for the cake, it was so beautiful, especially surrounded with photos of the grandparents.  What a wonderful thought and a lovely way to bring the whole family into the wedding and honour grandparents.  favours included filigree hearts and the place names were again filigree hearts attached to the top of the wine glasses.  It just shows the level of detail Carly and Dom added to their wedding day, and how beautiful it looked.

For the evening in the barn, we used hanging and standing birdcages to finish the look.

Carly was driven to church in a carriage pulled by two greys provided by Wayside Carriages.  We left too early to see the final carriage as the horses were just being prepared on the Green at Challock.  We had provided floral arrangements for the carriage as well, and we will look forward to seeing photos of them in due course.  Carly had also added birch hearts to the trees lining the driveway to the church, which just added to the romance of the day.

It was such a lovely wedding, and perfect for both the setting and for Carly and Dom, who are truly a couple made to be together.  I know they had a wonderful day, as did their guests, and they really deserved it given the time and thought given to it all.  We were honoured to be involved and can't wait to see photos of them in due course.
