Kiraleigh and Graham's wedding at Oxonhoath, near Tonbridge

As soon as we met Kiraleigh and Graham, we knew that they would want a soft, natural look to their wedding flowers, especially with the wedding at Oxonhoath...with such fantastic views from the parterre gardens, overdoing the flowers would be a crime.  We wanted the flowers to look as though the garden had been brought inside whilst following the purple and lilac colour theme....with a Scottish twist.   Eryngium thistle and heather meets ivy, roses and lisianthus.....lovely and just perfect for Kiraleigh and Graham.

Whilst we've provided flowers for weddings at Oxonhoath (http://www.oxonhoath.co.uk/) before, the welcome was so warm this weekend from all the venue staff and from Kiraleigh's lovely family.  Everyone wanted to help (including offering uniform inspections....Kiraleigh's Dad will know what we mean!) and we were really looked after.  With such a lovely setting, great staff who wanted to do everything possible to make it perfect for Kiraleigh and Graham and a fabulous bridal party, it was going to be a perfect day.

Kiraleigh's bouquet was a short, loose and natural teardrop bouquet using ivy, eucalyptus, Vendella roses, eryngium thistle, heather, lisianthus and freesias being largely purple and lilac toned to contrast against the dress.  Her bridesmaids' bouquets were largely ivory and used ivory spray roses, lisianthus, heather, eryngium, ivy and eucalyptus, again in a natural and soft hand-tied style.

For the groom's party, we wanted less formal buttonholes than usual, so just used the Vendella rose along with eryngium, heather and ivy for Graham, and then just eryngium and ivy for the remainder of the bridal party (including smaller eryngium heads for the pageboys).  The Mums' corsages tied in and were finished with loops of ribbon to match their outfits.  Altogether a very natural, yet striking set of buttonholes and corsages.

Oxonhoath has a fabulous grand staircase with the most lovely dome and ceiling above and we dressed the staircase with a mixed ivy and eucalyptus garland, kept deliberately a little messy and loose and with Kiraleigh's fairy lights added along with eryngium heads and tied bunches of flowers on each newel post.

We followed the garland theme through on the mantelpiece in the reception room and provided simple hand-tied arrangements in simple lily vases for the guest tables, allowing the ivy to trail down the vases onto the table.  The three tier cake was dressed with a small topper to blend with the flowers and we added eryngium heads on each tier to finish it off.  The top table had a long and low arrangement using all the flowers used elsewhere along with the lovely Amnesia rose for some faded lilac accents.

For the ceremony in the gorgeous, homely library (I just wanted to curl up with a glass of something and start working through the books!), we provided an arrangement for the celebrant table and two pedestal arrangements to frame Kiraleigh and Graham during the ceremony.  The pedestals were then going to be moved to the reception room later in the day for the wedding breakfast.

I have to say we loved working with Kiraleigh and Graham and their family and know they had a lovely wedding day.  We'll see some photos of them in the future when they're available but in the meantime having had a lovely thank you from the very happy couple yesterday, we'll leave the blog with Graham's fantastic words, which brought a tear to our eye as he said..."thank you for the amazingly beautiful flowers, they were almost as beautiful as my new wife".  It sums them both up perfectly and were so pleased to be part of such a lovely day.

  1. We have attended a number of wedding's over the years, and flowers are a beautiful, natural thing. In skillful hands this beauty can be further enhanced, and we are pleased to say that the display's you produced for our daughter and son in law's day were the best we have ever seen. Perfectly in keeping with the setting and their wishes. We send you our heartfelt thanks for helping make their day perfect.
And as for your uniform inspection, it passed muster with flying colours!
    Thank you La Senza....
