Aimee and Darren's striking Cooling Castle Barn wedding

We knew we'd love working with Aimee as soon as we met her and her lovely family.  It has been an absolute delight from start to finish and we look forward to meeting up with Aimee again soon to see her wedding photos, which are going to be gorgeous and glamorous!

Aimee and Darren wanted a striking and fresh floral theme for Cooling Castle Barn and wanted the colours to match the cerise pink dresses for the bridesmaids.  As they also wanted it to be soft, we added in pale pink and ivory and decided on the striking bi-coloured Dolce Vita rose along with Sweet Avalanche, White Naomi, Purple Power roses, Merostar lilies, Calla Lilies, lisianthus and bouvardia along with foliage.

Aimee's gown was gorgeous with detailing across the whole sweetheart necklined bodice and so we designed a smallish teardrop bouquet to work with the dress and allow her fabulous figure to be shown to its best.  For her girls, we designed hand-tied rose bouquets with touches of bear grass.  Very striking in their simplicity.  Boys buttonholes coordinated.  We also provided a lovely thank you for Teresa, Aimee's Mum but I forgot to photograph it !

For the ceremony, Aimee and Darren wanted the Fathom Barn to look as special as the rest of the venue and so we provided our new tall slim ivory candlesticks to frame the aisle, all dressed with flowers, battery operated candles and a trailing cerise pink bow.  We then added a long arrangement to the celebrant table, added  bows and roses to the bottom of the stairs and the dais, and then finished the look with large martini vase arrangements at the front filled with cerise pink, pale pink and ivory flowers.  Perfect for a special moment!

For the wedding breakfast, we provided mini martini vases for the top table along with a low central arrangement.  We also added hot pink and clear crystals all along the edge of the table and added empty vases filled with hot pink gel pearls to take the bridesmaids' bouquets during the meal.

For the main tables, we placed a large and wide martini vase on a central mirror surrounded with pink and clear crystals.  We then filled the martini vase with cerise pink sisal and placed a full arrangement of lilies, roses, lisianthus, bridal gladioli, bouvardia and stocks in the centre for a striking centrepiece.  Aimee and Darren don't like much foliage, so we packed in the flowers and kept the foliage simple and minimal.

To finish the look, we added clear fairy lights to the beams to give that extra sparkle and to work with the glamorous look Aimee and Darren wanted.

It was such a wonderful wedding to be involved with and I am so upset we won't be able to be part of Aimee's sister's wedding next year (we're already booked :-( ) but it was lovely to play a small part in their big day.  To finish, this is what Aimee had to say the day after the wedding (with a few personal details blocked out as deemed appropriate)...

Hi Amanda!

Thank you so much for your email. We had the most perfect day on Saturday and we can honestly say it was the best day of our lives. Everything went perfectly from start to finish including the weather and we were over the moon! I was completely blown away by your flowers and I actually got quite emotional both when I saw the bouquets at my mums house and again when I saw Cooling Castle. Everyone has commented on how gorgeous they were and were over the moon when I handed them out to some of our close friends and family the following morning. { }

We have absolutely loved working with you! Flowers are such a personal thing and it was so lovely to work with someone who completely understood what I wanted and did everything in their power to ensure we were happy both with the choice of flowers and the price. My sister is so disappointed that you're already booked up for her wedding next year as she was blown away too but these things happen.

Thank you so much for the photos - they look beautiful and I have added them to my Facebook page too. I'm not sure if you can see my facebook page but there are tons of photos on there. Please feel free to tag Distinctly Floral in any of them or just have a look.

We will definitely be recommending you to anyone we can and would love to vote for you on the National Wedding Industry Awards. { }  We will also be writing something on your website too.

I actually feel really sad that its all over and that we won't get to meet with you again. I know you're extremely busy but I wondered if in a few weeks once we've got our wedding album photos if you would like to meet one last time so we can show you our beautiful photos? I would love to show you the end product of all your hard work.

Anyway thanks again for an amazing job!

Lots of love,

Aimee & Darren
