Emma and Daniel's wedding reception at Westerham Golf Club

Emma's Mum Jackie got in touch with us via a recommendation from Liz and Matt (Cornish wedding in May)....even before Liz and Matt had seen their flowers!  Emma had already chosen her stunning Pronovias dress and knew she wanted a fresh, pretty and romantic look in ivory and green.  She had set her heart on candelabra, and whilst we originally worked on black candelabra with gold accents, we ended up with the more contemporary chrome candelabra, which looked so lovely in the light and bright Westerham golf club.  Emma and Daniel are such a wonderful couple and were so excited about their wedding day, that we were thrilled the day dawned so bright and sunny.

For the fresh green and ivory theme we used Vendella and Green Tea roses, white and green hydrangea, ivory hypericum berries, white trachellium, green skimmia, lisianthus and Anastasia blooms.  Foliage used was eucalyptus in order to keep everything looking very fresh.

Emma's bouquet was a soft textured hand-tied bouquet using roses, hydrangeas, trachellium and berries with a eucalyptus collar.  It was so pretty and would work well with Emma's gorgeous dress whilst allowing it's full beauty to be seen.  For her bridesmaids, we provided hand-tied bouquets of Vendella and Green Tea roses, hypericum berries and green skimmia along with eucalyptus collars and scaled them down in size according to the age of the bridesmaid.

The boys wore toning rose buttonholes with hypericum berries and eucalyptus and Jackie wore a wrist corsage to complement her buttermilk and black outfit, whilst Daniel's Mum wore an ivory corsage of chincherinchee and spray roses along with loops of coral ribbon to tone with her outfit.

At Westerham Golf Club, we provided a candelabra arrangement for each of the guest tables using all of the flowers used elsewhere.  For the top table, we provided a low arrangement to sit in front of Emma and Daniel and decorated the rest of the top table with fluted votives and tealights, with florets of the green hydrangea sprinkled in between to add colour to the cloth.  We added to the place settings by placing a single rose on each setting on the top table.

For the two lovely mantelpieces either end of the reception room, we decided upon a collection of glass vases with a selection of the flowers used elsewhere.  Different height church candles were used in between, which were to be lit in the evening.

Finally, we added to the cake table by sprinkling florets of hydrangea around the edge and provided several thank you bouquets (not pictured).

All in all, it was such a fresh, light, and romantic wedding reception...perfect for Emma and Daniel.  Everyone at Westerham Golf Club had done such a lovely job preparing the room in advance that it was so easy to provide the finishing touches to what we hope was a perfect day for Emma and Daniel.

  1. Amanda, you have captured everything! Thank you so much for the flowers, they were, as you say, the beautiful finishing touches to a fantastic venue - and the button holes and bouquets were just what they wanted. Thank you!

  3. Thanks so much for the comments, on the blog and off. It was a lovely wedding indeed, and the colours were simple, yet striking and fresh. I'm so glad that they've inspired others as well as being just what Emma, Daniel (and Jackie) wanted. This is just what being a florist is all about....!
