Emma and Liam's wedding at St George Hotel, Rochester

Emma and Liam had planned a very fresh and elegant look to their wedding day.  They wanted everything to be green, white, light and slightly sparkly.  Gerberas, germinis, roses and lilies were chosen as the main flowers along with eucalyptus and grasses.

For Emma's bouquet, we decided on a hand-tied bouquet of roses, germini, eucalyptus and china grass.  Simple, elegant and a little more contemporary in style.  It was perfect to go with Emma's lovely gown and we attached a set of RAF wings to the bouquet stems when we delivered, which were Emma's grandfathers, which also had an additional link to Liam.

For the Maid of Honour, we decided upon a hand-tied small germini bouquet whilst the other bridesmaids had wrist corsages of germinis.  Daisy the Flower Girl carried a single germini as a "wand" style.

 

 

Liam had a very elegant rose buttonhole whilst we matched the rest of the boys into the bridesmaids' flowers by providing germini buttonholes.  Mums' corsages were chincherinchee and spray roses. 

 

 

For their ceremony, Emma and Liam had a long, low trailing arrangement of lilies, roses, gerberas and germinis.  We wanted to keep the flowers soft and simple, yet striking which I think we achieved.

For the reception, we needed to fill quite a large space...

 

 

...which we did with tall tablecentres.

 

 



As you can see, we decided on mirror plates with trumpet vases on top.  Each had a rose floating part way up the stem and then each had a softly trailing top arrangement to match all the rest of the wedding flowers.

For the top table, we designed a long and low arrangement to work with Emma's "Mr and Mrs" sign.

The lovely cup cake tower (each with its own box!) was dressed on the top cutting tier with a small set of flowers.

Emma and Liam are about the nicest people you could ever wish to meet and their wedding day was very special.  They look AMAZING and I know had a day to remember.  We were so very pleased to be involved and wish them a long and very happy life together.

Becca and Matt's wedding at Boughton Monchelsea church and after at Cooling Castle Barn

When we first met Becca and Matt, they weren't too sure about their colour scheme, although they thought that they may choose a striking pink for their bridesmaids' dresses.  Having seen one of our wedding exhibitions, they fell in love with the fabulous purple vanda orchid and the colour scheme and overall look and feel of the wedding was set.  We decided upon hot pink, purple and lime green to give a striking, contemporary yet elegant feel to the wedding and it worked fabulously at Cooling Castle Barn.

For Becca's bouquet, we decided upon a hand-tied bouquet using unusual Celosia, Greentrick and Anigozanthus (kangaroo paw) along with the purple Vanda orchids and hot pink gerberas along with simple loops of china grass.  Despite being a striking and unusual bouquet, we kept it a sensible size to ensure that it didn't overwhelm Becca and allowed her dress to remain centre stage.  We wrapped the stems in ivory ribbon, but added the purple and pink colours in a small bow at the top.  We can't wait to see photos of Becca with her bouquet, as we only saw her hair and make-up complete on the wedding morning.  She looked wonderful even in her dressing gown (how do people do that!) and was very calm and composed.  With her lovely dress, she was definitely going to take Matt's breath away!

For the bridesmaids, we decided to focus on lime green and purple to contrast against their dresses.   We used lisianthus, orchids, mini alliums, greentrick and kangaroo paw, along with loops and sprigs of grasses. We wrapped the stems again in ivory ribbon and added a pink bow to the top of the stems to tie in with their dresses...and we managed a perfect match with the dress colour.

For Matt, we used the purple Vanda orchid along with a pink germini and some greentrick.  He looked very handsome on the wedding morning, although a teeny bit nervous and I think the buttonhole will have worked perfectly for him.  For the rest of the boys, we used the pink germini and greentrick with grasses which will have looked lovely against their suits.  Mums had dendrobrium orchid and chincherinchee corsages and each was personalised to match their outfits.   They were also given thank-you bouquets to match the wedding flowers.

At Cooling Castle Barn, we used tall lily vases filled with strong pink water, with a full and striking top level arrangement of gerberas, anthuriums, alliums, greentrick, palms and aspidistras.  We also added some additional splashes of colour with purple and pink sisal buried deeply between the flowers.  We placed each on a central mirror to reflect the light.

A long and low, exotic arrangement  of anthuriums, orchids, alliums, celosia, gerberas, kangaroo paw, aspidistras, palms, grasses and sisal was provided for the top table, and we finished the whole look with germinis placed on each place setting on the top table.  The final touch of sparkle was provided by the fairy lights we wrapped around each beam.

Despite not being too sure about the initial colour scheme, I think the colours finally chosen were perfect and we hope that Becca and Matt had a truly perfect day. 

Lucy and Reece's wedding at Cooling Castle Barn

Lucy and Reece married at the weekend at the fabulous Cooling Castle Barn, and have been planning their wedding for over eighteen months now.  Despite having booked her flowers so long ago, Lucy has always known what she wanted in terms of colour and style and when you see her choices, you'll know why.  With hot pink and orange, gerberas and exotic proteas and celosia, it was a wedding to remember. 

Lucy was looking stunning on her wedding morning, and will have been a radiant bride.  Her hair and make up was stunning and her choice of a simple, yet striking and contemporary hand-tied bouquet of hot pink and orange gerberas along with simple grass loops would set off her dress perfectly.

For the bridesmaids, we decided to mirror Lucy's bouquet, but use the smaller germini.  We then scaled down bouquets from the older to the more junior bridesmaids, and then finally went for a single gerbera and shaved feathers in a "wand style" for the Flower Girl.

For Reece, we opted for the burnt orange germini and loops of grasses, with the hot pink germini used for the rest of the groom's party. The Mums decided they would like wrist corsages to match their outfits, and again we incorporated germini to match the focal flower.  We then provided lapel corsages for the Nans and sisters.

For the ceremony in Cooling Castle, we removed the artifiical arrangement at the front of the ceremony room and replaced it with a striking hot pink and orange arrangement using gerberas, germinis, celosia and proteas along with palms, grasses and other striking foliage.  We matched this arrangement with a long, low striking arrangement for the celebrant table.

Within the main barn for the wedding breakfast, we dressed the guest tables with central mirrors onto which was placed a large martini vase filled with hot pink sisal.  Into the top of each martini glass, we placed a striking hot pink and orange arrangement designed to give plenty of width and to give that "wow" factor.  As we had a larger number of tables, using such striking arrangements filled the barn with bright, summery flowers.   We also dressed the beams with fairy lights which framed the whole barn perfectly.

We finished the top table with a long and low arrangement placed over the front of table draping.  We then added a few small clusters of flowers into the stunning (and large) tower of cupcakes Lucy and Reece had chosen for their wedding cake.

We think the barn and the colour scheme looked lovely and lots of people commented on how summery and attractive it all looked on the day.  It was a lovely day and we're sure that everyone will have had a wonderful day....hard not to at Cooling Castle Barn!  We just hope it lived up to Lucy and Reece's expectations and to their long planning period.
