Claire and Warren's wedding at Aylesford Priory - North Barn

We met Claire at Detling wedding fair when she spotted a white gypsophilia bouquet.  Being close friends with a fellow wedding professional, she'd done her research and luckily we hit it off straight away.  Claire had initial ideas about what she would like her tables to look like, but these changed over time and I had great fun sourcing new vases, urns and candlesticks to meet to final specification for the North Barn at Aylesford Priory.  We thought it looked fab when finished.

Claire had already bought her wedding dress when we met her which is quite normal...what is less usual is that she had bought it several sizes too small for her as she was determined to be her ideal weight on her big day.  Being the person Claire is, she did exactly as she said and was in fabulous shape for her wedding day.  As for her bouquet, it was no surprise that we provided a very full and neat white gypsophilia bouquet wrapped simply in heavy ivory satin ribbon.

Claire decided that her little Flower Girls would be best without flowers so we provided buttonholes and corsages for the Groom's party with Warren the groom wearing an ivory rose and gypsophilia buttonhole, with the rest of the groom's party wearing just ivory roses, and the super cute Page Boys wearing just white gypsophilia.  Wrist corsages were provided for the Mums and lapel corsages for other special female guests.  Full and lovely hand-tied bouquets were also provided for the Mums.

For the lovely North Barn at Aylesford Priory, Claire and Warren decided on a very strikingly simple all white gypsophilia theme.  Claire's main inspiration for her floral theme was her idea of an extra large shiny silver urn on the table directly inside the main entrance (the guest book table) filled with a huge gypsophilia bouquet.  So that's exactly what we delivered, along with a small dome of gypsophilia to go by the guest book.  Claire and Warren also had a post "sack" directly inside the main door and we thought the table would look better if it had a neat hand-tied bouquet of white gypsophilia by the side.

To follow up on the theme, we then designed a full hand-tied white gypsophilia bouquet in a mercuried pumpkin vase for each guest table surrounded with silver candlesticks and battery operated candles.

For the top table, Claire left the design to us, and we decided to provide smaller silver urns either end of the top table with smaller pumpkin vases of gypsophilia all along the front edge of the table and an empty central vase for the bridal bouquet along with a couple of candlesticks.

To finish the overall look, we dressed the beams with fairy lights (battery operated to avoid the trailing cables) .  We loved the additional little details like the knitted bride and groom (apologies Warren for forgetting to photograph the groom), the glamorous mirror tableplan, the dried Mr and Mrs sign and the lovely heart shaped book confetti.  The chair covers and especially the side bows on the top table (www.prettybows.co.uk) looked fab too.

Now I may not be the biggest fan of gypsophilia due to its unusual scent, but when it is used on its own it really looks striking.  We loved the overall look of  the barn and all the little details and can't wait to see photos of Claire and Warren...we know they're going to look fab.

In the meantime, here's what Claire had to say about the flowers (in her own words)...

I would firstly like to start by thanking you for the wonderful service that you provided for me, I was overwhelmed when we arrived at the venue – it looked just as I pictured it (even better actually I think!) The compliments that we received were fab, everyone loved it!

I have also voted for you in the Wedding Industry Awards 2013 so hopefully you will have success there.

I am awaiting my photographs at the moment so as soon as I have one I will send one over.

Thank you again Amanda, I wish you every success for the future.
