Charlotte and Alex's pretty Spring Chilston Park Hotel wedding

Charlotte LOVES flowers and is fascinated by the meanings of them as well as the look of them.  She was therefore immensely well informed and knew what she wanted when we met her and Alex for the first time.  I was therefore especially pleased that she chose us from all available to be part of their gorgeous wedding day.  They are a really lovely couple and clearly so in love...so lovely to see.  They decided on a romantic Elizabeth Bennett styled wedding at Boughton Malherbe church followed by their reception at Chilston Park Hotel.

Being a flower officianado, Charlotte wanted flowers that fitted with the season and wanted everything to look soft, romantic, pretty and fresh.  The base colour was green and ivory and we accented with the appropriate flower for each table...more on that later.

Charlotte had chosen a soft empire line dress with a fabulous lace edged veil and a gorgeous vintage hair slide and although we only saw the dress on the hanger...she was going to be a knockout!  Charlotte followed the theme of the day and chose a more traditional teardrop bouquet using lily of the valley, freesias, bouvardia, chincherinchee, scented large headed roses and trachellium with light foliage.  It looked and smelt gorgeous and was perfect for the petite and pretty Charlotte.

For the bridesmaids, Charlotte had decided originally to make their bouquets herself but got too busy and nervous nearer the day, and hence we designed hand-tied bouquets to tie in with her own bouquet.

For the boys, we used lily of the valley with rosemary for Alex and then used single ivory roses with rosemary and ivy for the rest of the boys.  They looked stunning in their suits...very dapper indeed!  For Mums, we designed pretty corsages with spriggy pearl detailing.

Charlotte had dressed the church with daffodils in pots and hence we focussed on Chilston Park for the reception.  We dressed the tables with our large candelabras with a full and pretty top level arrangement with added trailing lace ribbons.

We then added fabulous jamjars each individually decorated by Charlotte to the base of each of the candelabra, filled with the namesake flower for that particular table (Iris, Daffodil, Hyacinth, Tulips and Charlotte provided the Forget-Me-Nots and Primroses).  We're probably biased but we think it looked gorgeous.

For the top table, we used all Charlotte's jars filled with green and ivory flowers used elsewhere and added a few extra empty vases to take the bridesmaids' bouquets during the meal.  LOVED the little Easter eggs filled with soap for the favours...very different and appropriate.  We also thought the side plates looked nice with a ranunculus to finish.

Finally, Charlotte and Alex' cake was based on a magazine design they had seen and altered and included an all round section of flowers between the third and fourth tiers as well as a topper.  We used the most appropriate flowers from the wedding and added loops of ribbon that Charlotte had requested be involved.

It was a truly lovely wedding for a truly lovely couple.  We can't wait to see the photos...especially in the fabulous horse and carriage that Charlotte persuaded Alex to have for the journey to and from church.  It may have been chilly, but I'll bet it was fantastic and it was covered.  Charlotte now has to let Alex have his way and hire a car of his choice one weekend!!!  Well he did also send lovely flowers to her on the wedding morning...be nice to him Charlotte!
