I know we post a lot of photos of Cooling Castle Barn, but we do tend to work there quite a lot, and I think it is so interesting to see how different styles and colours all work within the barn, especially when spot lit. Given the size and scope of Cooling, it gives us plenty of options in terms of arrangements, and therefore the choice really comes down to the wedding couple. For Lisa and Herbie, chocolate brown and ivory was the theme and they wanted something striking and contemporary in style, but not too minimalist.
Lisa's bouquet was a striking overarm bouquet of calla lilies, anthuriums, black tie leaves and ostrich feathers (both brown and natural).
Lisa had seven Bridesmaids and a Flower Girl to attend her, and all the older bridesmaids wore chocolate brown gowns. We thus decided upon ivory calla lilies to contrast against the dresses. All bouquets were simple but striking with a jaunty ostrich feather attached. For the Flower Girl, we provided a calla lily wand surrounded in chocolate brown feathers and with a few feathers.
Feathers continued to make an appearance in Herbie's buttonhole, albeit more masculine pheasant feathers. The calla lilies were used to contrast against the suits and ranged from larger to mini buttonholes for the Page Boys. Mum's and sisters' corsages also featured mini calla lilies along with chincherinchee.
To welcome guests, a martini vase arrangement of calla lilies, oriental lilies and anthuriums along with feathers and exotic foliage was provided for the coffee table in the Heritage Barn.
Moving into the Fathom Barn for the ceremony, we provided a low arrangement for the Celebrant Table, and also dressed the newel post at the bottom of the stairs with a contemporary hanging arrangement.
Within the Tithe Barn, we used large martini vases filled with fairy lights for additional sparkle and added large arrangements of calla lilies, oriental lilies, feathers, anthuriums and exotic foliage. The top table was dressed with the arrangement from the celebrant table and was to be moved after the ceremony. We also finished the overall look with fairy lights around each of the beams.
The overall look for Lisa and Herbie's wedding was elegant, contemporary and striking, using a few talking point flowers and filling the barns with striking arrangements. Lisa and Herbie definitely didn't want soft fluffy flowers and wanted to reflect their personal style within their flowers, and we think it looked stunning. Having met Lisa's bridal party on the day, we know the photos will have looked amazing and we know that a great time was had by all.
