Another warm and rich floral theme was designed for Rebecca and James' gorgeous wedding at the weekend. Rebecca had chosen a deep red for her softly flowing bridesmaids' dresses and the Grand Prix rose was a perfect match. We wanted to ensure that the flowers matched the more contemporary style of Rebecca and James as well as Brandshatch Place Hotel, and yet didn't look out of place in the lovely surroundings of Luddesdowne Church. We thus mixed roses, orchids and calla lilies with contemporary foliage.
For the church, we provided arrangements in the entrance lobby and the light streaming in looked lovely bouncing off the mirrored cubes. We also dressed one of the ledges inside the door with an arrangement as well as framing Rebecca and James with pedestals at the front.
Rebecca looked stunning in a strapless ivory gown with very intricate detailing and sparkle. We therefore kept the flowers fairly simple but with a contemporary feel. We used Grand Prix Roses along with glamorous little Mokara orchid and added sparkles to tie in with the dress. We also provided a small throw bouquet to allow Rebecca to keep her bridal bouquet, yet follow tradition by throwing a bouquet. Foliage for the bouquets was kept to a simple looped bear grass collar. The bridesmaids carried ivory rose bouquets finished with the bear grass collar to match Rebecca's bouquet and these contrasted beautifully with their dresses.
The groom's party tied in with James wearing a Grand Prix and Mokara orchid buttonhole, and the rest wearing the ivory rose. We added some dendrobrium and Mokara orchids to Mums' corsages to bring everything together.
At Brandshatch Place Hotel, we dressed the entrance staircase with organza to match the dresses and placed two contemporary styled pedestals at the top to welcome the bridal party to the hotel.
We then provided full and lush chair bows to match the bridesmaids' dresses and as a little extra finishing touch, we decided to add Grand Prix roses to the backs of the chairs on the top table. We dressed the tables with mirrored cubes (matching the mirrored walls of the room) and included a compact but striking arrangement of cymbidium orchids, calla lilies and roses along with palms and aspidistra leaves. On such a warm day, it was important to focus on keeping flowers as fresh as possible, so we attached an aqua pack to each arrangement in the cubes...this also allowed them to be easily given to guests at the end of the day. Mirrored cubes were also placed along the top table and on the bar.
The cake was dressed to match the wedding flowers using roses and orchids.
Rebecca and James looked so happy together on their wedding day and made a very glamorous couple and we felt the flowers matched them perfectly. A great day was evidently had by all and we were so happy to have been involved in such a lovely day.
