When we met Stephanie and Grant and hear all about their plans for their wedding, we knew it was for us. Fine tweed suits, vintage elements, corn dollies and loads of natural rustic styling was just perfect for Frasers Barn and for the relaxed wedding Stephanie and Grant wanted. They trusted us to choose the right flowers, which is really brave but which allows us to use our creativity and to buy the best flowers that are around at the time. A colour palette of ivory and pale green was chosen with splashes of dusky pink and we incorporated bark, wood, corn, wheat and lots of natural elements along with hydrangeas, peonies, astrantia penesetum, guelder rose, freesias and veronica amongst lots of other goodies. The marquee smelt as good as it looked!
Stephanie looked stunning (as you can see) in a beautiful fitted gown with a sweetheart neckline and gentle gathering into a fuller skirt. We loved her loosely curled hair and the daisy chain style headdress. So very beautiful and so perfectly suited to the textured, spriggy and natural hand-tied bouquet she carried. We chose a soft, natural and textured hand-tied bouquet and graduated the flowers throughout to give more of a "just picked" look and tied the stems simply with lace ribbon.
For Stephanie's bridesmaids, we provided textured wrist corsages on organza ribbon with lace over the top. Delicate and simple but very pretty.
Grant really did look wonderful in his three piece suit and fitted in perfectly in his surroundings...very much the country squire. He wore a textured buttonhole matching Stephanie's bouquet and the rest of his boys wore slightly simpler buttonholes including the three year old Page Boy who wore a mini version of the other buttonholes. Mums had corsages tailored to match their outfits as did Nan. Thank-you bouquets were also provided which we kept soft and natural to match.
For the ceremony, we dressed the beams with foliage garlands wound with flowers and bunches of corn along with some simple hearts. We then added a curl of bark shaped like a cornucopia filled with flowers and a wooden bucket filled with flowers to the celebrant table. Stephanie's rustic heart garland and corn dolly were hung above the beam over the celebrant table to finish the look. The registrars were lovely and friendly and happy to pose for a photo too!
As guests entered the marquee, a vintage suitcase was placed on the side which we dressed with flowers and a doily ready to take any cards that were brought along by guests. Once in the marquee we went to town with the table decoration using a vast array of rustic containers (many made by ourselves) and all filled with rustic, full selections of flowers. There really are way too many to feature here as the table layout was sprigs off a top table and we filled all the spaces with flowers or sprinkled florets. We added sprigs of wheat all along the top table place settings as a finishing touch.
Finally (and boy did this take some time and some interesting wrangling!), we hung flowers from the central gantry of the marquee on differing lengths of raffia. We were originally going to provide hanging baskets but were worried about the weight, so went for the more unusual and softer look of lots of hanging blooms. Don't ask how we did it, but we loved the finished effect!
We LOVED this natural rustic look and the relaxed and happy feel at Frasers was perfect for Stephanie and Grant. We know they had the best day and would love to do it all again. Loads of gorgeous photos to remind them which I'm thrilled they shared with us and my favourite, really evocative one is Stephanie and Grant hand in hand headed back down the drive to the Bridal Suite at the end of the evening, with Stephanie carrying her bouquet and Grant carrying the suitcase of cards...perfect and such a lovely sweet photo.
