We met Megan through one of our florists Claire, and despite having another wedding booked for the same day, we just knew we had to be involved. Megan and Leigh are two of the nicest, most unassuming people you can meet and with their lovely family (Isla, Finlay and Seth), it was clearly going to be a wonderfully relaxed family day.
Megan wanted a soft, pretty and feminine look with vintage overtones for her wedding and we chose Roses, Spray Roses, Bouvardia, Hydrangeas, Stocks, Waxflower, Sweet Peas, Freesias and Astrantia along with lovely scented foliage.
Megan's bouquet was a beautiful, textured and soft hand-tied bouquet based around roses. It really was perfect for Megan...so very pretty. We added a brooch to the stems to finish it off.
For the two elder bridesmaids, two junior bridesmaids and the lovely Isla (who was recovering from chicken pox on the day), we provided bouquets and posies very similar to Megan's, but smaller and with less detail. Lace was added to the stems to work with the theme.
Buttonholes were designed to follow suit, with Leigh's being a Vendella rose with astrantia, chincherinchee, freesia, rosemary and mint whilst the rest of the boys wore the same buttonholes minus the rose. The Mums' corsages were designed to work with their outfits and we provided thank-you bouquets for them too.
For the venue, we provided Megan and her sister with buckets of flowers to match the theme and they did an amazing job designing the tables, and the aisle and venue flowers...we told them they could come and work for us but they politely said we couldn't afford them....dammit! But what a wonderful job they did.
All we did to tie in was provide a tableplan mannequin, a wishing tree with labels, a cake decoration, a stack of vintage suitcases for the cards and a few finishing touches to the top table.
It was such a pleasure working with Megan, Leigh and all the family. We know they had a great day, the weather was gorgeous, the children played outside all the day long, the food by Chives was evidently wonderful, the venue beautiful and every little detail was thought about. What a perfect recipe for a perfect wedding.
