Kate and Daryl's wedding at The Russell Hotel, Maidstone

Having met Kate and her Mum at a wedding fair quite a while ago, they had fallen in love with the eryngium thistle as it worked so well with their navy and ivory colour theme.  Ideas developed over a period of time, especially with regards to tablecentres, but from the beginning it was clear that this was going to be an elegant wedding balancing a traditional feel with a more contemporary edge.  Consultations were such fun with Kate and her Mum and her Mum even inspired a new hairstyle for my Mum!  Thanks again for that.

For bouquets, Kate wanted roses, trachellium, eryngium and chincherinchee, along with grasses and some additional sparkle.  Rather than providing a full shower or teardrop bouquet, we designed a hand-tied bouquet which was easy to carry and then added a small extension of grasses, sparkles and crystals to give a different shape and look to the bouquet.  Whilst we used Maroussia roses in Kate's bouquet, we decided upon germini along with the eryngium and the chincherinchee for bridesmaids.

Buttonholes toned with the bouquets, using a Maroussia rose, chincherinchee, eryngium and foliage for Daryl and then eliminating the chincherinchee for groomsmen.  Corsages for the Mums used chincherinchee and spray roses and tied into their outfits with loops of ribbon. 

For the tables at the Russell Hotel, we used striking wine goblet vases and arranged all the flowers inside the vases, using germini, eryngium and grasses along with a few glass pebbles at the bottom for additional interest.  We also used one of these at each end of the top table, leaving the centre for Kate's bouquet.  Each of the tables was finished with a mixture of chunky crystals and slightly smaller crystal sprinkles....just enough to catch the light, without being too overpowering.

The strikingly simple cake was dressed with a cake topper and an additional bottom section of flowers to match the wedding and we think it really was a great example of "less is more" as it looked beautiful and had pride of place alongside the top table. 

The whole room was decorated beautifully with toning chaircovers and sashes and we weren't at all surprised to see matching favours and other little details as Kate and her Mum were always going to have an eye for the smaller details.  The boys all looked lovely in their navy suits and the overall wedding party will definitely have turned heads on the wedding day.....all that we need now is a photo of the lovely Kate so that we can see the wedding dress.....how many bets it is gorgeous, elegant and just that little bit different.

Gemma and Kevin's wedding at East Malling Church

Well it was tears all around this weekend when I delivered the flowers to Gemma...had me going too!  Gemma was so excited about seeing her flowers and it was such a striking bouquet, that it had everyone exclaiming over it.  Gemma is a tall lady and was to wear a stunning full dress, hence we couldn't provide a small hand-tied bouquet could we.....no, it was a 2.5 foot long shower bouquet instead.  We used a wide range of soft, romantic, English country garden type flowers in shades of ivory, purple and with a hint of strong pink to match the bridesmaids' sashes on their dresses. 

Gemma's lovely bouquet included Gletsjer and Dolce Vita roses, spray roses, lisianthus, flowering mint, campanula, larkspur, chincherinchee, freesias, peonies, bridal gladioli, ivy and asparagus fern.  We designed the bouquet to have a lot of movement and Gemma loved it....we're so pleased.  It will look so much better in Gemma's hands against her dress, but in the meanwhile, here are some of our photos.

Her bridesmaids' bouquets were mainly ivory with a hint of strong pink which we brought in using the bi-coloured Dolce Vita rose and via the organza ribbon used to tie the bouquets.  We also provided a floral circlet for the flower girl to wear using spray roses (Snowflake and Mimi Eden), freesias, chincherinchee and foliage).

Kevin's buttonhole was the Dolce Vita rose along with asparagus fern and ivy, and the remainder of the main bridal party wore ivory roses with ivy, with the exception of the two gentlemen wearing kilts, for whom we provided buttonholes of chincherinchee and thistle.

A range of corsages were provided using orchids for the Mums along with spray roses.  For Grandma, we used spray roses and freesias, for the Aunties we used spray roses, and for others we provided chincherinchee corsages along with fern.  We also provided thank-you bouquets (no photos - sorry!) for the Mums and a birthday bouquet for Grandma....what a way to celebrate your birthday!

All in all a lovely wedding for a lovely family and we hope they had the very best day.
