Laura and Ivor's wedding at Bletchingley Church and Brewer Street Farmhouse

Having met Laura and Ivory through another of our recent brides, it was lovely to find that we would be working in a new location and with a fabulous selection of flowers to complement all the lovely items Laura and Ivory were planning.  Laura and Ivor are a wonderful couple and so easy to work with.  They had a clear idea about how they wanted their venues to look, and flowers were very important to them to set the scene.  Scent was also very important.  The overall feeling they wanted was a magical, romantic, soft English Country Garden set of flowers in pinks, blues and ivories with an underlying vintage feel.

When talking flowers with Laura and Ivor, we decided upon roses including Carousel Illusion and English grown old fashioned musk roses, peonies, hydrangea, astrantia, astilbe, chincerinchee, lisianthus, eryngium, bouvardia, ammi majus, flowering mint and lots of other soft and beautiful flowers (with odd names that Ivory thought I made up as I went along...especially chincherinchee!)  What a fabulous mix.

Laura chose an exquisite quite fitted lace Pronovias gown with small cap sleeves and detailing under the bust line.  Laura is so pretty and petite it was always going to look fabulous, despite looking small enough to fit one of my legs!  She decided whilst she wanted lots of different blooms included, she didn't want too large a bouquet, hence we added minimal foliage and added as many gorgeous flowers as possible.  We dressed the stems with lace and added Laura's wedgewood blue cameo brooch to the stems.  Gorgeous!  Can't wait to see the photos as it really will be a magazine model look.

Laura had a Maid of Honour for whom we provided a slightly smaller version of the bridal bouquet.  She then had an additional four bridesmaids and two cute Flower Girls.  We decided to scale down the Maid of Honour's bouquet for the bridesmaids and then provide a simple rustic circlet for each of the little girls.  We wrapped the bridesmaids' bouquets with ivory ribbon to contrast against their wedgewood blue dressed and finished them with a random assortment of buttons.

For the boys, we wanted to continue the textured, soft look used elsewhere so used a scented English rose for Ivor with lavender, eryngium, astrantia, rosemary and eucalyptus.  For the groomsmen we used a soft mix of chincherinchee, lavender, astrantia and lisianthus.  They looked very handsome in their outfits, with Ivor looking particularly swish in a gorgeous suit.  The perfect groom!  The Mums had delicate lapel corsages designed to tone with individual outfits.

Bletchingley church is a lovely village church with plenty of space to fill, which we decided to do by providing two large and gorgeous pedestal arrangements to frame Laura and Ivor taking their vows and also pew clip arrangements for the aisle.  To welcome guests to the church we provided two baytrees dressed with a selection of flowers and a lace bow.  The grooms party were also busy adding church candles and ivy to the windowledges which looked lovely.

From the church, the wedding party went over to the gorgeous Brewer Street Farmhouse.  What a lovely venue!  Not only did they have a fabulous marquee in a wonderful setting, but guests are given free rein to wander through the beautiful gardens and trees in front of the immaculate Tudor farmhouse.  The owners are also so helpful and friendly and happy to let you wander around and enjoy...it really is an idyllic setting. 

Laura and Ivor had purchased candelabras and birdcages for the tables, which we dressed with flowers as well as providing a selection of additional vases and votives filled with flowers to surround each arrangement. 

A long, full and textured top table arrangement was added to with a foliage garland along the full length of the table, with additoinal flowers and vases added.  We then placed a small section of hydrangea on each of the table settings and added another small vase of flowers in front of Laura and Ivor.

Laura and Ivor had the most wonderful selection of items to finish the marquee dressing, from vintage suitcases (for which we  provided a full arrangement of flowers), a vintage map tableplan and tablenames, hanging hearts made from vintage maps, a wonderful treat table, lanterns, birdcage tealight holders to line the way to the marquee and birdcage styled favours containing macaroons (how fab to have my fave macaroons again).  It all looked amazing and one of my particular favourites were the personalised vintage looking planters which greeted guests to the venue...these were actually made from scratch by Laura's lovely Dad and what a wonderful job he did. 

So, this for me had all the elements needed for a perfect wedding...fantastic couple, a pretty village church, wonderful outfits, lots of lovely styling, a really lovely and welcoming family and some pretty nice flowers if I say it myself!  We really do have the best job!  A future wedding of the month, so keep an eye out for lots more photos to come.

Nicola and Daniel's wedding at Boughton Malherbe Church and after at Leeds Castle

This really is a wedding we've been looking forward to for a while.  It's always nice to be able to provide flowers for church as well as the reception venue as the whole theme is carried through from start to finish.  it is especially nice when the flowers chosen are so beautiful and where our lovely bride trusts us to decide what flowers to use where.  Nicola and Daniel wanted a very soft, romantic, pretty and natural look to their wedding to reflect the gorgeous surroundings of the church.  Nicola loves roses, English flowers, scent and a slightly vintage edge to the overall look, and hence we chose a variety of roses (Carousel Illusion, Amnesia, Maroussia, plus some English garden roses - David Austin style) along with sweet peas, hydrangeas, peonies, astrantia, freesias and eucalyptus.  The colour palette was a wonderful faded pale pink and ivory and looks so soft.

Nicola had chosen the most stunning Pronovias dress (Fauna) which is both pretty and extremely glamorous.  So, for Nicola's bouquet, we wanted a textured, full, blowsy hand-tied bouquet using all the flowers mentioned above. It smelt divine with the English roses, sweet peas, peonies and freesias....if ever a bouquet was designed for scent as well as sight, this was it!

For the bridesmaids, who were wearing soft chiffon aubergine coloured dresses, we decided smaller versions of Nicola's bouquet (minus the peonies) would work well.  Slightly larger than the average bridesmaid bouquet, these looked (and once again smelt) gorgeous.  Nicola also had a little Flower Girl, for whom we provided a small posy to resemble the older girls' flowers but omitting some of the larger blooms so that it was manageable.

The boys chose simple Maroussia rose buttonholes finished with eucalyptus parvifolia, and we added a couple of ivory Sweet Peas to Daniel's.

For the church, we provided two large pedestal arrangements for the front of the church, plus an arrangement for the window ledge, and soft trailing pew ends for a selection of the pews.  We also provided a wire stand of confetti cones made from recycled paper, some overlaid with lacey doilies, all filled with rose petals.

For Leeds Castle's Fairfax Hall, we had c. 90 minutes to transform the Hall from a tearoom to an elegant wedding reception!  The team there are amazing to watch and change the whole set up including all the tables with minimum fuss, and lots of laughter! 

We used tall elegant silver candelabra for each of the tables, with a soft natural arrangement on the top, and small votives of flowers around the base of each. 

For the circular top table, we provided a fuller version of the floral arrangement, and provided vintage vases around the base filled with flowers. 

We dressed the beams with garlands twisted with fairy lights and provided two large pedestal arrangements to frame the doorway into the Terrace room.  On the terrace itself, we hung arrangements on the railings, with bows in between.....looking at that view, we could have stayed there all night!  Especially as we were being wonderfully seranaded by "Might be Buble", one of the best singers we've had the pleasure to work alongside at a wedding.  He's such a nice guy too!  (http://www.sugartown.co.uk/)    We finished off the cake table and card / present table with small votives of flowers to bring the whole theme together.

As a long lasting thank-you for the Mums, we potted David Austin rosebushes (Princess Alexandra of Kent) into lovely terracotta pots, and wrapped them to match the theme.  Each time they bloom, they will bring back memories of a wonderful day.

All in all, we think it was the nicest we've seen Leeds Castle look for ages...very elegant yet pretty and soft at the same time.  Perfect for the elegant, yet truly lovely Nicola and Daniel.  We know they had a wonderful day and that they loved their flowers, so hope you do too!
