Ruth and Eddie's Christmas wedding at Kent Life

It was a full-on Christmas wedding for Ruth and Eddie, complete with Christmas trees, lots of lights, a spectacular red dress and actual snow!  What more can you ask for for a Christmas wedding.

Having provided wedding flowers for Emma and Martin, friends of Ruth's bridesmaid Colette earlier in the year, we were delighted Colette contacted us to be involved in Ruth and Eddie's magical Christmas wedding.  The theme for the wedding was Christmas, Christmas and more Christmas.  Ruth's dress was truly spectacular....a fabulous red fairytale dress with applique and sparkle.  It really is gorgeous and Ruth will have lit up the room when she walked in.  Colette's dress was pewter and the lovely Flower Girls were wearing ivory with fluffy jackets.  The colour scheme was thus set as red, silver and ivory, with plenty of sparkle and an overall festive feel.

For Ruth's bouquet, we designed a hand-tied heart shaped bouquet of large headed Avalanche roses, glittered ivy, hypericum berries, berried ivy, silvered birch, skimmia, holly and festive foliage.  This would be perfectly offset against Ruth's dress, without covering too much of the detail.

For Colette, we provided a hand-tied regular shaped posy of Grand Prix roses, silvered birch, red hypericum berries, skimmia and silvered berried ivy with glittered ivy, with stems wrapped in pewter ribbon.

For the cute little flower girls, we provided a "wand" of Grand Prix roses, festive foliage, ivory fluffy feathers and crystals.  And for Eddie, we provided an Avalanche rose buttonhole with berries and ivy, with the remainder of the Groom's party wearing Grand Prix rose buttonholes with berries and ivy.  Eddie's Mum wore a corsage of spray roses and foliage with fuschia pink ribbon loops to match her outfit.

In the Village Hall at Kent Life, the arch was entwined with ivy and a few flowers and Ruth, Colette and Eddie put up Christmas trees to frame them taking their vows.  The celebrant table was dressed with a large festive arrangement of roses, berries, gerberas, skimmia, pussy willow, ivy, ilex berries, holly and other festive foliage, all with a scattering of glitter and snow.  Church candles were added to give a lovely golden glow.  Ivy was draped along the chairs and the entrance hall had a festive candle arrangement.

Within the Wagon Store, the tables were beautifully dressed with sparkles, reindeer place names and a central festive arrangement of gerberas, roses, skimmia, silvered birch, pussy willow and mixed festive foliage.  A further Christmas tree had been provided and the top table had been garlanded with red fabric and we twisted ivy along the top; the large table arrangement from the Village Store was to be moved to the centre of the table after the ceremony.

With snow gently blanketing everything outside, the perfect Christmas scene was set for a perfect wedding day for Ruth and Eddie.  We hope they have a fantastic day and a wonderful time on their festive honeymoon.

Christmas Wreaths

We're now well and truly into the Christmas spirit!  Carols have been played and our fingers are now all black with pine and spruce and our faces are shiny with glitter.  It all smells lovely and festive with cinnamon, orange, apples etc all playing a part.  We thought we would share with you some of our Christmas pine wreath designs, some of which have been designed to hang on doors (some internal, and some external) and others to be placed on graves to remember loved ones during the festive season.

We design wreaths to meet our individual customers' needs and colour schemes and also do just a few to inspire people.  Some are very natural and rustic in appearance and we've used crab apples, chilli peppers, dried lotus heads and vine balls as well as the usual dried fruits, spices and nuts.  Here are a few of the more rustic designs.

We have also designed some wreaths to tie in with particular themes or colours, e.g. butterflies or the ever popular and on trend purple...and don't forget black and white to match the black Christmas trees that have been around for the last few years.  Here's a few of our more contemporary wreath styles.

We have also used some nordic Christmas tree decorations, such as the felt gingerbread men and women along with added fairy lights on some of our wreaths, which can then be saved for the following year (as long as they're not inadvertently thrown in the bin, as one of our customers did with their lights!)  Waxed apples are also proving very popular and with an added touch of snow or glitter, bring a little sprakle to any front door.

Whatever your needs, or your theme, we can design a wreath to suit and will really enjoy the festive scents in the process.  It's just as well you can't hear us singing the carols at the same time!!
