When we first met the glamorous and stylish Hannah and Tim, we knew this was going to be a gorgeous wedding. Loving all vintage Hollywood Glamour and being a designer herself, it was always going to be a good one...but what a wedding it was.
Hannah designed her absolutely stonking 1950's style dress herself...so very very jealous of this amazing dress and in fact everything about the look...hair, shoes, make-up etc etc. She looked amazing! Photos from her photographer Lisa Devlin will hopefully follow in due course showing the whole look and we'll do a seperate blog. Hannah's bridesmaids wore dresses designed for them in a Vivien Westwood inspired plaid and this gave the wedding the splashes of deep red, blue and green to tie in with them. We kept the flowers largely green and ivory and just added hint of the colour.

Hannah wanted a teardrop bouquet but one that wasn't too large and also one that was quite open with plenty of movement. We used lisianthus, spray roses, hypericum berries, ranunculus, freesias and eryngium thistle with soft foliage. We decided to keep to smaller headed flowers throughout the wedding rather than overpower with larger roses etc.
For the bridesmaids, we used Honeymoon tulips, spray roses and eryngium thistle with light foliage in hand-tied bouquets.
As we wanted to keep the buttonholes very textured, we decided that Tim would have a chincherinchee and eryngium buttonhole with the stem wrapped in lace from Hannah's dress and the rest of the boys would have simple eryngium thistle buttonholes wrapped in ribbon to match the bridesmaids' dresses. For Hannah's Mum, we designed a lovely handbag corsage for her, whilst Tim's Mum wore a lapel corsage with a hint of red to contrast with her cream dress. Slightly smaller corsages were provided for Tim's Grandma and sister.
To dress Chiddingstone Castle, Hannah and Tim wanted an elegant, glamorous yet vintage theme. We used tall chrome candelabras with very full arrangements of flowers on top and arranged them to hide the arms of the candelabras so that they were just used as a stand. We then used a selection of silver vases, rosebowls etc that Hannah and Tim supplied at the base of the candelabra. For the top table, we designed a full and fabulous front of table arrangement that flowed gently out either end. We added clusters of glass and silver votives to finish. LOVED the champagne saucers that Hannah and Tim sourced...so glam.
We also dressed the mantelpiece with a selection of items provided by Hannah and Tim, including Hannah's Grandad's old regimental trumpet which again we dressed with flowers. Wooden letters, and a vintage desk calendar showed the date of the wedding for posterity.
Elsewhere in the castle, we added vases of flowers to the table in the entrance hall, the tables in the White Rose room, to the cake (made by Hannah's Mum) and onto the card table in the White Rose room including in a small ceramic frame Hannah's Mum provided.
We loved the escort cards provided for all the guests, and lovingly straightened by the team at Chiddingstone Castle...and ourselves! They all had gorgeous photos of Audrey, Bing, Cyd, Grace, Marilyn, Gene, Fred and Ginger inside, indicating the tables guests were to be seated at...how lovely.
It really was a lovely wedding and I know everyone had a fab day despite the freezing temperatures (nothing new there!). It was lovely being involved and being given such a glamorous brief...perfect for Hannah and Tim and perfect for the Castle.
