Jade and Callum's wedding at Archbishops Palace and Poult Wood Golf Club

Working with couples like Jade and Callum is what makes our job worthwhile.  They are such a lovely couple so completely in love and focused on just getting married.  Callum said he didn't mind what the weather was like or what his gorgeous bride was wearing as long as she was there on the day.  They really are a perfect couple and we were so pleased they chose us to be part of their day.

Jade had chosen coral as her accent colour for the day but wanted to mix it with blush pink, ivory and green in a soft textured look for their day.  Being petite, we couldn't afford to make Jade's bouquet too big as we wanted her to be able to show off her stunning gown.  We loved the lace overlay which created a stunning neckline and sleeves.  It looked so perfect on Jade.  We therefore chose a hand-tied and quite textured bouquet for her using roses, trachellium, bouvardia, astrantia, chincherinchee and freesias along with rosemary and eucalyptus.  It just looked lovely against her dress, which we got to see thanks to the lovely photos from Samantha Jones Photography.  She was way ahead of us in terms of blogs and has already blogged Jade and Callum's wedding twice, with lots more lovely photos....deffo worth a look.

Having said all these lovely things about Jade, Callum looked extremely handsome and dapper as we knew he would.  What great suits and what a handsome couple. For Callum's buttonhole we use pinky coral spray roses, chincherinchee, trachellium and freesias along with foliage to tie in with Jade's bouquet.  We then used ivory spray roses in the rest of the groom's party to differentiate from Callum.  We then provided pretty corsages for the Mums and key female members of the bridal party.  We also left thank-you bouquets at Poult Wood.

For the bridesmaids, we had a last minute decision as to the number of bouquets required as Jade's sister Amanda was due to have her baby in the week before the wedding.  She really wanted to be a bridesmaid, so we designed a bouquet for her along with the other bridesmaids.  When we delivered the bouquets on the morning of the wedding, we found out that Amanda had gone into early labour that morning...eek!  But bless her, she lasted throughout the day and through the speeches, giving birth to Jade and Callum's nephew the following morning.  What a trooper!  The bouquets were textured hand-tied bouquets in green and ivory as a contrast to the dresses with a smaller posy for the Flower Girl.

At Poult Wood, Jade and Callum wanted a vintage tea party feel at Poult Wood Golf Club.  We therefore provided a selection of vases, teapots, cups and other receptacles.  We also helped by adding the bunting and hearts wherever we thought appropriate.  We even pitched in and helped lay the tables....who said we aren't adaptable!  We also provided empty cut glass vases at the venue so that all the bouquets could be kept fresh as long as possible.  We also provided extra roses and flowers to be added to the cup cake tower when it arrived.

I know that Jade and Callum had a lovely day and they truly deserve it.  It was really lovely being involved in their day, and I'm pleased they loved their flowers.  We wish them the very happiest future together.  And once again we thank Samantha Jones photography for providing some of the photos.

Jo and Rob's wedding in East Sutton church and after in a private marquee

Flowers and birds are the things that Jo loves best.  She knew when planning her wedding that she wanted lots of lovely flowers around, and that there would be a bird theme.  Having chosen cornflower blue for her bridesmaids, we decided to add lemon, pale pink and ivory to the mix to give a summery yet soft look to the wedding.  Scent was important and a slight vintage edge was also evident whilst keeping the marquee flowers striking.

We decided on a mix of roses (English grown David Austin style, Carousel Illusion and Vanilla Sky), peonies, hydrangeas, sweet peas, chincherinchee, trachellium, bouvardia, cornflowers, lisianthus and scented foliage (including mint, rosemary and eucalyptus).   The combination was stunning and the additional details, fabulous setting for the marquee, pretty church, fabulous couple and wonderful family made for a memorable day.

Jo's exquisite fitted dropped waist lace gown with slight vintage detailing was gorgeous and perfect for her petite frame and her hair and make-up was done to perfection...a fabulous look overall.  So, for her flowers, we wanted to provide as many of the flowers Jo loved with memorable scent, without making the bouquet too wide or cumbersome for her dress.  No pressure then.  We think it looked lovely, and when wrapped in a vintage doily with a beautiful wedgewood cameo brooch that we added at the house (which I forgot to photograph!), it was perfect.

For her six bridesmaids, we provided smaller bouquets following the same look and colours as Jo's but with less varieties.  We also wrapped their stems in vintage crocheted doilies and added a pale blue heart button to three and a pale pink matching button to the other three.  Simple but very effective.  They also weren't too heavy which was lucky as one of the bridesmaids had her arm in plaster!

For the boys we wanted to follow the textured and country look, so used chincherinchee, lisianthus, rosemary and eucalyptus and added cornflowers to Rob's to make it that little more special.  We then provided small and delicate corsages for the Mums with detailing to tie in with their outfits.  We also dressed Jo's Mum's hat with flowers to bring her overall look together.

For the very pretty East Sutton church, we decided on a single large pedestal display using all the flowers used elsewhere along with pretty tied bunches of flowers on every other pew.  Pretty, soft and rustic.

For the marquee, Jo wanted a striking look for the tables and hence we chose tall vases with palest pink water inside and a piece of hydrangea floating on the top.  We then added full arrangements of hydrangeas, roses, peonies, chincherinchee, trachellium, lisianthus and bouvardia to the tops.  We sprinkled blue hydrangea florets on the tables to finish.

The top table was a very sociable curved table and we decided to add two smaller and more compact arrangements, one to each side of Jo and Rob.  We then provided vintage vases for the centre for Jo's bouquet and to each end for two of the bridesmaids' bouquets.  We sprinkled hydrangea florets along the length of the table to tie it all together.  We also added chincherinchee to each napkin and an additional rose to Jo and Rob's place setting.  Finally, we added four additional vases to the table where the bridesmaids were sitting so that their bouquets remained fresh during the day.

To welcome guests to the marquee, Jo and Rob's beautiful table plan (each table named after birds) was placed alongside a table for cards and gifts and we provided a birdcage (of course) for the post box which we dressed with flowers.

And last, but definitely by no means least, was THE CAKE!  Made by our great friends at Creative Cakes it was simply beautiful with lace detailing matching the dress, flowers matching the style of the open Carousel Illusion rose and an exquisite birdcage complete with bird on the top.  All in colours to match everything else.  It really was so very beautiful and all we did to add a final touch was add a few hydrangea florets to the table.

We were so lucky to be involved in this wedding as the whole family, friends and other suppliers (cake, photography by David Burke, caterers etc) were all fabulous.  It made the whole wedding seem so much easier and not the hard work it could have been.  We couldn't have been made more welcome and are a little sad it's now over.  We know Jo and Rob had a wonderful day, and when the professional photos are ready, we'll add another blog to show you how truly fabulous everyone looked.
