Carly and Joe's soft and pretty Cooling Castle Barn wedding

Today's wedding is the lovely Carly and Joe's wedding from earlier this month.  Having had to change their original church booking, they married in Cliffe church and had their reception at Cooling Castle Barn.  Carly and Joe were the easiest and loveliest people to work with and just wanted a pretty and romantic wedding.  Carly once said she thought she was being a bridezilla because she was concerned about whether the top table arrangement was going to be right and dared to ask the question!!...she's about as far from a bridezilla as you can get!!!  I loved working with them both.  They also had a lovely photographer (www.peterreynoldsphotography.com.  07915068413) who has supplied us with some photos so you can see something other than our flowers!

Carly's dress was a stunning fitted lace gown which suited her perfectly and was worn with a scalloped edged veil.  She looked beautiful!  Her girls all wore different dresses in the same mink / caramel colour.  We provided a textured hand-tied bouquet for Carly using roses, tulips, ranunculus, freesias, peonies, lisianthus, waxflower, astrantia, bouvardia, hypericum ....I'll stop there.  It was lush and full and pretty!  We wrapped the stems in offcuts of the lace.  For her girls, we used smaller versions of the main bouquet with slightly less varieties of flowers and scaled them down in size from the adult bridesmaids to the single rose surrounded with smaller flowers for the smallest flower girl.

The boys looked immaculate and very handsome in their tails!  We provided a textured buttonhole for Joe, based around a rose then used ranunculus instead of a rose for the rest of the boys.  Lades had delicate lapel corsages with details to tie in with their outfits.

At Cooling, we dressed the beams with faux blossom garlands and warm white fairy lights.  We then added a lovely rustic heart to the plough and dressed the top table in front of the plough with a cascading rosebowl arrangement in the centre surrounded  by smaller vases of flowers.  The front of the table was left open to allow full visibility and we added a range of vintage vases filled with flowers to make it that little bit extra special.

We then alternated between rosebowl arrangements for some guest tables, and tall full candelabras with softly flickering lights and soft, pretty arrangements.  

I think the whole room with the chiavari chairs instead of seat covers looked magical...such a soft, gentle pretty colour palette overall.  We know Carly and Joe had an amazing time and wish them a wonderful life together!  I'll miss our email "chats"!

Kelly and Scott's pretty, romantic and soft Chiddingstone Castle wedding

 

 
Today with the sun shining through the window, it felt like a day to feature a very recent (last weekend in fact) wedding of lovely soft, pretty colours.  Kelly and Scott married in the Orangery outside at Chiddingstone Castle and had a wonderful day.  They are a really relaxed couple who wanted everything pretty and natural but not too wild...not for them big formal arrangements and many of the finishing touches they did themselves...I even had to prise bunting out of Scott's hands a couple of hours before the wedding to pack him off to the pub!  Very hands on indeed...confetti cones were handmade (with petals and holder provided by us), as were the lovely planters for the olive trees.

Kelly wore a stunning slimline lace gown with a beautiful lace edged veil.  She had the gown altered to add lace sleeves and keyhole back and further customised it with a sparkly detail section at the waist.  We provided her with a textured and soft bouquet of O'Hara roses along with Amnesia, La Belle and Majolika roses alongside ranunculus, veronica, freesias, bouvardia and astrantia with sprigs of thlaspi and soft foliage.  We wrapped the stems in an open lace and finished them with a bow.

For the five bridesmaids, we provided hand-tied similar bouquets just using the spray roses, ranunculus, freesias, bouvardia and astrantia with soft foliage and wrapped them in ivory ribbon.

For the boys, Scott had a La Belle rose buttonhole with veronica, spray roses and astrantia whilst we replaced the rose with ranunculus for the rest of the crew.  Even the adorable three year old Page Boy wore a tiny buttonhole of spray roses.  Mums and Nan weren't forgotten with pretty lapel corsages.

For the ceremony, we added a simple pitcher and teapot to one side of the table and assisted with the bunting!  With Scott's wonderful planters in such a gorgeous setting, it didn't need more.

 

Inside the castle, we added a stack of suitcases filled with flowers, lace etc for the postbox, and then also added a further suitcase with random books, crystals, pearls etc to fill the table.  We dressed the mantelpiece in the White Rose room and added some wooden hearts to the tree in the entrance hall. 

Within the Great Hall, we dressed the mantelpiece with random vases and Kelly and Scott's bunting.  Each table was then dressed with a central pitcher filled with soft flowers and with vintage teacups filled with flowers around the outside with lace wrapped votives.  We draped pearls around to finish the effect.

For the top table, we continued the vintage vibe with a random selection of vases, pitchers, arrangements, pearls, books etc along with Kelly and Scott's bunting. 

Despite the high ceiling in the Great Hall, the whole room looked beautiful and got lots of lovely comments as the wedding party walked in to finish off their preparations.  It was a fabulous day for a fabulous couple and we know they had a great time.  We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves too!
