Despite having included Lucy and Joby's wedding as our featured wedding of the month on the website at the moment, hadn't got around to writing a blog for their lovely wedding. Still, better late than never. Lucy and Joby wanted a glamorous yet soft and pretty wedding and had chosen a gorgeous colour scheme of pink, lilac, midnight blue and ivory. The midnight blue really made a difference and tied in with the lovely three piece suit Joby had chosen.
Lucy was a gorgeous petite bride who had chosen a stunning gown to perfectly suit her figure. As you can see from the photos Lucy has sent across, she looks like a filmstar. Such a fab choice of dress and wrap. With Joby in his suit and lovely bow tie, what a stunning couple they make.
For Lucy's bouquet, she wanted a teardrop style but with plenty of softness, movement, texture and overall a very natural feel. It also couldn't be too big so as to overwhelm her. We used spray roses, freesias, eryngium, astrantia, ranunculus, bouvardia, chincherinchee, viburnum tinus and eucalyptus. Finished with a lace bow, it was just what she wanted.
For Lucy's bridesmaids, we designed hand-tied bouquets using the flowers used in Lucy's bouquet but with added clear and blue crystals. We wrapped the stems in the midnight blue to work with their dresses and added an ivory lace bow to the top. We followed this look for the Flower Girls and provided small posies for them to carry..."mini me"s. You can see how gorgeous they all look below (thanks for the photos Lucy)
Joby designed his buttonhole himself as he was clear what he wanted. We used a Sweet Avalanche rose with chincherinchee, eryngium and eucalyptus. For the rest of the groomsmen we used ivory ranunculus, pale pink spray roses, eryngium, chincherinchee and eucalyptus. For the Page Boys, we decided on just spray roses. Corsages were provided for Mums and Nan.
For the ceremony in the Fathom Barn, we provided a very full and pretty arrangement for the Celebrant table and then dressed the dais with organza and roses. We also added a bow to the bottom of the stairs complete with rose and ammi. On the day, we decided the aisle chairs felt left out, so added Mimi Eden spray roses to the bows.
For the Tithe Barn, we provided a full arrangement for the top table and as a little surprise, added a sparkly Mr and Mrs for Lucy and Joby's napkins. We also finished the napkins with roses. Empty vases were placed either ends for the bridesmaids' bouquets, which keeps them fresh and adds extra colour and decoration.
Each of the guest tables had a large chrome candelabra used as a base for a full and trailing arrangement to match the colour scheme. Each was placed on a mirror plate for extra sparkle. We used some of the flowers used elsewhere along with delicate Sorbonne lilies and other seasonal flowers. Lovely lace chair bows and sparkly brooches were provided by www.your-beautiful-day.co.uk
We dressed the four end beams in the barn with a faux blossom garland and fairy lights, and added trailing bows to each of the eight beams.
Finally Lucy and Joby wanted to provide their own sweetie table, and we helped them out by providing some of the vases to give height and shape. Easy but effective.
It was a lovely wedding with some extremely glamorous guests arriving as we left and we know that they had a wonderful day. It probably seems a while ago now, but we wish Lucy and Joby a really happy life together. It was lovely getting to know them.
