Kirsten and Gregg's wedding at Eastwell Manor

We are so lucky to have such lovely wedding couples to work with...as was seen with Kirsten and Gregg this weekend.  It was so nice to hear the excitement building when I spoke to them at various times in the run up to their wedding.  They were even pleased with the extremely frosty start to their wedding day at the weekend, but when you felt the welcoming warmth and saw the roaring fires at Eastwell Manor, I'm nto surprised.  Despite Eastwell being ready for Christmas with its' garlands and Christmas trees, we brought a brightness to the venue with the pink and ivory floral theme.

Kirsten's bridemaids were wearing a hot raspberry colour and Kirsten and Gregg decided they wanted to use this as the main colour along with ivory and to go for a contemporary look and feel....with added feathers and sparkle! It certainly attracted lots of lovely comments when we were setting everything up so we hope it was what Kirsten and Gregg wanted.

For Kirsten's bouquet, we designed a hand-tied bouquet of Dolce Vita and Gletsjer roses along with pink Alonso germini, feathers, sparkles and finished with a collar of eucalyptus leaves.

For the bridesmaids, we used ivory gerberas (Swanlake) and interspersed them with feathers and finished them with a matching eucalyptus collar.  We also provided Albino germini wired for the bridesmaids' hair to be threaded in by their hairdresser.

For the groomsmen, we used the Dolce Vita for Gregg, the Snowflake gerbera for the adult groomsmen, and Albino ivory germinis for the pageboys.  We then designed pretty corsages with a rouch of feather for the Mums and Gran.

For the ceremony, we decided just to dress the celebrant table with an arrangement of lilies, roses, gerberas, germinis, eucalyptus and feathers.  With the Christmas tree already in place, this was just enough to fill the photos without detracting from Kirsten and Gregg taking their vows.

For the reception, we provided martini vase arrangements which we placed on a mirror with votives and long-lasting tealights surrounding the base.  The flowers were a mix of lilies, gerberas, germinis and roses along with a single "jaunty" feather.  They worked so well with the room, and whilst it is a beautiful and more traditional setting, the arrangements added a contemporary feel that Kirsten and Gregg wanted to match their personal style.

For the top table, we decided upon a lower centre arrangement along with two mini martini vase arrangements at either end and with clusters of tealights and votives in between.

We then finished the mantelpiece very simply with votives, tealights and rose petals to ensure it didn't look bare, and yet allowed the focus to be on the other table arrangements.  We also provided a range of thank-you bouquets (as well as a surprise bouquet for Kirsten for her room on the wedding morning....what a lovely thought from Gregg).

Kirsten's day certainly started well, and from everyone we met on the day, we're sure they will have had a wonderful warm day with the frosty views that they so desired.

Gemma and James' wedding

This weekend we provided some lovely bouquets and buttonholes for Gemma and James' wedding.  They wanted a soft, romantic and instructured feel for their flowers which were all to be ivory and green with hints of black.  Anenomes were featuring in the stationery, and hence had to be included (despite the fact that they didn't want to face the chilly weather!)

Gemma's bouquet was a lovely spriggy and natural bouquet of ranunculus, bouvardia, ornithogalum arabicum, lisianthus, freesia, hypericum, paperwhites, trachellium and eucalyptus.  We wanted to use the stems as part of the design, and hence only lightly tied them with an offcut of Gemma's dress fabric and a piece of lace.  It was such a yummy textured bouquet, that we really didn't want to part with it!

For her bridesmaids, we wanted to follow the spriggy and natural feel but used the anenomes along with hypericum, lisianthus, trachellium and ornithogalum arabicum along with eucalyptus.  We tied these in ivory ribbon with a black bow at the top.

For the buttonholes, we used chincherinchee, ranunculus and eucalyptus for James and then chincherinchee and eucalyptus for everyone else.  Mums' corsages followed the theme using chincherinchee, hypericum, trachellium and eucalyptus.

Gemma was lighting her venue with candelabra for the reception and we think these pretty and slightly wintery flowers will have looked lovely in the candlelight.  Such a pretty wedding and so perfect for Gemma and James.  Probably amongst our recent favourites....but then we could probably say this so many times!!  Hopefully they were firm favourites with Gemma and James.

Emily and Rob's wedding at Cooling Castle Barn

This weekend was the long awaited wedding of Emily and Rob at Cooling Castle Barn.  We met a long while ago to discuss ideas for Emily's wedding, and with the exception of a few tweaks, the final flowers were as originally discussed.  Emily had chosen a warm colour scheme of champagne, chocolate, gold and bronze and we matched the flowers to the colour scheme, using Vendella roses, brown, gold and ivory cymbidium orchids, natural willow and black tie leaves along with gold birch, some with touches of glitter.  Emily wanted plenty of light and sparkle in all her arrangements, and we added fairy lights wherever possible.

As Emily was wearing a stunning flowing slimline dress, we decided upon a slimline shower bouquet of cymbidium orchids, vendella roses along with touches of chocolate brought in via black tie leaves and willow.

For Emily's bridesmaids, we designed hand-tied bouquets of Vendella roses surrounded with chocolatey photinia leaves.  These toned beautifully with the champagne coloured knee length dresses with a chocolate sash and we wrapped the bouquets to match.  We also have to mention the stunning sandals Emily chose for the girls...beautiful and very high!

The buttonholes were very simple and comprised Vendella roses (with an orchid for Rob) and all with willow sprigs.  For the ladies, we designed corsages to match details of their outfits (gold leaves, chocolate brown touches of ribbon, or pearls).  We provided thank-you bouquets for the Mums, each designed to match their preferred flowers.

For the all important ceremony, we designed an arrangement for the celebrant table using orchids, roses, birch and willow along with hypericum berries and chincherinchee.  This was then to be moved to the centre of the top table.  We also added two tall vases either side of the dais to frame Emily and Rob taking their vows.

For the main barn and the wedding breakfast, we added a mirror to each of the guest tables and a tall glass vase filled with crystal fairy lights for added sparkle.  We added a full, yet very open arrangement to the top of each vase using Vendella roses, birch, willow, chincherinchee, black tie leaves and photinia leaves.  We also added fairy lights to each of the beams giving the final magical sparkle Emily wanted.

The overall look at Cooling Castle Barn was elegant and slightly wintery yet warm and sparkly.  The colours worked beautifully with the outfits chosen, and alongside the warm wood of the barn.  Overall, it was such a lovely elegant wedding, and having seen how lovely the bridesmaids looked, we can't wait to see how beautiful Emily looked in her dress.
